February 20, 201312 yr HDMI for PS3. Mostly component for all my past-gen consoles except my GC; I have sexy composite cables for that bitch.
February 21, 201312 yr My TV's old, so I generally use component cables. I used to use RFU adaptors until I discovered I could play without the red plugged in.

From what I can tell it still plays from both speakers, and when I put headphones in the sound comes from both sides, so I don't know... I'd always thought one was for stereo, the other was for mono. Of course, I could be wrong though.

The red connectors serve for the right channel of audio, and the white connectors serve for the left channel of audio.
