Hey there! These are the signups for my newest RP concept; The Experiment. It's a new world and concept unrelated to any game or show, if you read the brief below you'll learn more about the concept, and if you're at all interested, hopefully you'll sign up as well!

 

"In the modern day, everything seems as it should be. It is not. Every day the world refuses to agknowledge the prescence of those stronger than them. Smarter than them. Better than them. You see, what we think of as humanity is not entirely human. A very small percentage of them are more. They have abilities beyond normal capacity or even understanding. Flight, telepathy, elemantal control... you name it. Why do they have these abilities? No-one knows. Well, no-one except me. You may call me Xi. I know about these abilities, and I know who has them. Why do I know these things? I won't tell now, all in due time.

 

It is what I have done with this information that is worth telling you. I have kidnapped several of these "special" people. They've all been put on a small island- what was once a military base. It's made up of beaches and runways, bunkers and palm trees. There's more to this island than meets the eye, and that is why I've put these people here. They have been selected. Selected for The Experiment. They cannot leave until it is finished. Until I have what I seek from them. There is a secret to these people that even they do not know themselves; a secret more amazing than even their powers. So what is this secret? What is that I seek? It is time to find out. Through their interactions, through their compassion and their fury they shall play my game, and it is a game of which I shall be the only winner.

If that brief at all intrigues you, please read the rules and create a character, the more the better!

 

Rules

• The major rule is this; please enjoy yourself. Stick around as much as you can- the more that everyone posts the more the story can advance, so have a good time and don't be afraid to have your character make some strange or interesting decisions, it will only make the RP more interesting.
• Interact with other people. Please don't spend all your time having your character reflect on their troubled past or such. This RP is about the characters and their relationships and interactions, and it will work much better if you take an interest in the story being told by everyone, not just yourself.
• Your character's power cannot cause an unfair advantage over other players. Time-stopping is an exmaple of a power that could out-match just about any other one. Create your power, but make it limited, that will make it all the more interesting when powers are used against each other and fights are even.
• Go with the flow. People will make their own choices and the story will encounter a few twists and turns. It's more interesting when characters have to deal with thos twists naturally.
• General RP Rules of course apply.

Good luck with the moving Sodom!BTW, to Sikota and Yuffie, try not to drag out the fight between your characters to anything too long. I'd like at least one of the two characters left alive at the end for the RPs conclusion and I'm not sure exactly how long the standoff at the airstrip will last.

I'll end it either way once the conversation at the airstrip is done.

Yeah, Sikota, I feel that sympathy for you. It must suck. But she is coming back, so its more of a longing than a loss, luckily.

 

And so long as Sodom comes back soon, I don't mind if she comes without the soul of the Roleplaying section. As long as she's back.

It would be nice to have the soul back, though. It seems a lot of people are gone right now. It is the end of the school year after all. The teachers are cramming everything in, and then there's finals.

Also, to the point of fighting in this section,you all are doing a good job of RPing, but understand that a lot of the point of taking away people's powers, and their ability to fight, was to make it less of a final "battle" and more of just a conversation, a human argument more the a supernatural showdown (Which is sort of the point of the argument that Xi's been having with everyone.)

 

You're free to do what you will with your characters, but this situation isn't going to conclude in a battle. Thomas isn't really a fighter, and that's the point. He has control, it's not a matter of out smarting him or brute-forcing your way to him. He can't really be beaten normally, the only way to really "beat" him at this point is to have him change his mind.

Or blow him up. That turtle is a fail-safe plasma bomb in addition to being a memento and metaphor for the human condition. Neisan WILL use it if he must. I'm telling you this just so you aren't all completely surprised if I pull it out. I'm hoping I won't have to.

Not to mention that Sikota pulled a finishing move on Sylar that hopefully worked and then will come back to finish Xi.

Well, the power-cancelling affect would work on him too, so that might be a tough play, Sikota.

 

Also, not a bad move, Neisan, though for the moment there's still a certain failsafe in place in case Thomas were to die. Hopefully that won't happen, as we're inching towards a more interesting ending than any sudden end would give.

He only broke the switch that turned it on, he only broke it so that the effect couldn't be reversed until you were out of it's range (Which is the entire island).

No, he still has the turtle in his hand. He only broke my suit. The turtle would have survived that, because I was ejected before the suit exploded. That's also the only reason I survived. Thank you, MDS, for not killing me!

Bullets are fairly tough to dodge from what I hear, though we'd cross that bridge when we come to it. Regardless, it probably won't come to that, nor would I necessarily want it to. As I've said, I find this more interesting than a battle personally.

Anyways, um, (Sorry if I'm messing the flow here) but hai everyone. Though being on topic, I like that unlike the other battles, this one is more climatic, and filled with drama--Xi just isn't the type of guy I could see as a fighter. He's the man with plans within plans.
