So it begins.

 

I have gathered them here. They know nothing yet. That will change soon. I wonder how they will take to each other. Time will tell. Regardless, no more time can be wasted. The Experiment must now begin. Time to wake them up...

 

"Good morning. Welcome to the next part of your life."

 

The voice rang out in all of their ears. Earpieces, firmly attached in the ears of all of them. Inside came the unnerving and unnaturally changed voice on the other end. One by one, after hearing the voice, each of the subjects began to wake. Lying on the shore of a short beach was Yumi Yuki Ai, Ember Mors, Luce Angelo, Hazimie Azhar, and Rasiel Kasaragi. The wind blew over them as they lay sprawled over the sand in close proximity to each other. Just as they had been placed. Next to the beach was a mix of jungle and swamp that went deeper into the mainland. Besides that the beach was mostly barren. A wrecked fishing boat was rusted and decaying within walking distance, but nothing more. The waves lapped up on the shore softly...

 

Miles away lay an abandoned collection of bunkers and buildings. They surrounded an airstrip. Rusted machine parts lay strewn about, and any sign of activity at the airstrip had long since faded. On the ground in the middle of the airstrip lay several more people. Ren Cabret, Neisan, Kilek North, Tsuna Sasaki, and Sikota Urinakano. Two desolate bunkers flanked the airstrip they were on, with a control tower at the end of the strip. Forest flanked the airstrip on all sides, with a single winding road leading out. The wind cut through the trees and sliced past the bunkers onto the airstrip. Only the wind and the trees provided any sound to the desolate military installation...

 

Deep in the jungle was a pair of rusted jeeps parked next to a crumbling house. The jeeps were long past functioning, and their engines were removed recently as well. The house sat surrounded by the trees with a single road leading somewhere further into the jungle. Inside the house were the four other subjects; Robert Evans, Karu Kasaragi, Fulmen Aizen, Xander Steel, and Locke Stern. Part of the roof of the house had caved in, and most of the belongings and furniture were gone. Remaining in the house were a few pots and pans, and single picture in an imaculate frame on a table in the room where the four people were laying. Silence pervaded the house...

 

On this island the Experiment is to be conducted. The island itself is only a few miles across, but its jungles, beaches, and bunkers hold long-kept secrets. These people now find themselves as part of a deadly game. They will have to get to know each other, and work together to discover what is sought from them, and in the process they must learn what they seek themselves.

 

The voice buzzed through their earpeices once more.

 

"Time to wake up. The Experiment has begun. You won't want to be asleep for this... Wake up and meet your new friends... and enemies. Wake up...

 

...the game has begun."

"Treat Xandre as you treat me Rasiel..." Karu's words echoed in Rasiel's mind and she looked up at Xandre.

"Sorry Xander..." she said, then looking to the next door.

Humm had already entered.

A soft wind blew. The figure atop the tower could hear the wind whistle over the bird-like corpse in the distance. He could still hear the echos of tears. He pulled on his invisible chains in attempt to free himself. He was still trapped. It made sense that the chains wouldn't break. They weren't meant to. But he had to find a way, he had to free himself. He had to end the suffering.

"Hmm?" Fulmen asked, stepping a few feet to stand behind Yumi, looking around the dark room.

You would imagine, with all the military-grade crap Xi has on this island, he could afford a few extra lights... Fulmen thought, the small joke making him smile within the darkness.

"I certainly hope this isn't a trap...though it has the 'It's a trap!' feeling to it.." Fulmen said aloud.

"Treat Xandre as you treat me Rasiel..." Karu's words echoed in Rasiel's mind and she looked up at Xandre."Sorry Xander..." she said, then looking to the next door.Humm had already entered.Rasiel and now oddly Xander entered to find...(MDS! Post pleeeaaassseeee 0ω0)

He skimmed the area around him, he saw...

The largest room they had yet encountered. A small staircase led into the room... which was the size of a huge warehouse interior. There were no other doors, only two elevator shafts on the left and ride sides of the room. The doors were closed on both, the only button on either was down.

 

Xi turned to Sylar. A ping suddenly rang out, accompanied by an elevator door opening in front of Sylar.

 

"Well, are you ready to redeem yourself my friend? I warn you. There will be one faction that comes back down that elevater. You. Or them. This is not a test you fail and walk away from."

Within the darkness of the room a single small rectangular box sat in the center. There were no other doors in the room... only the box. It was talled on three sides, but the side facing Yumi and Fulmen had a curtain the obscured whatever lay within.

 

"This test" Xi's voice began, "may take the most interesting measure of courage yet."

 

 

 

 

 

AsRobert gazed at the groupe before him, he realized that Hazimie andLocke were missing. [Great, Hazimie's gone all lone wolf.] he saidsarcasticly. [if anyone els is gonna die soon, it'll probably be him.]As for Locke, there was no telling where he went. 

 

Itwas then that he noticed Humm walk into the next door, followed by Yumi.[They might need some help.] he thought, and walked into the dark roomas well.

 

(Sorry if that was too controlling of meMDSVeritas, but Daniel Black hasn't posted for a long time, and this wayhis lack of posting won't hold anyone else back, and he can always comeback if he wants to. If you want, however, I can delete that part of mypost.)

Fulmen sighed. The only thing really visible was the box. Xi's voice rang in his ear, his voice send a chill down Fulmen's spine. There was a way that Xi spoke that just seemed to ooze with malevolence.

"Courage?" He asked aloud, pondering on what Xi meant. Does this 'courage' involve actually opening this box...or whatever is inside? Fulmen thought, worried that this box held something he really didn't want to see.

"So, what now?"

Yumi pulled the curtain. "Let's just look in the box." She said.

"What's the worst that could be in there a human heart?" She asked and looked inside,see saw...

(Forgot to really clarify the description, by box, I mean a very tall big box that one or more people may actually stand in, more or less a booth. I didn't use the term "booth" because then it may too obvious...)

 

Pulling back the curtain, the interior of the booth was revealed. Just beyond the curtain was a small area to sit, on the other side from the seat was a camera setup. The construction of the booth looked purposefully done. It looked overwhelming like a ... couple's photo booth?

 

"The booth you see before you is actually an elevator. It will take you to the next test. As you notice there are no buttons to make the elevator move. There is one way to do so. The camera is set to respond to a specific action, at which time it will begin movement."

 

"That action... is a kiss."

Fulmen stopped. A booth-elevator...that requires...a kiss...? He thought, his breath coming in faltered breaths. His heart skipped a single beat, his mind hardly being able to process what Xi had just said. "I see now..why Xi mentioned it would require courage."

Fulmen sighed, "And I beat he's laughing his butt of right now, where ever the heck he is." Fulmen said, looking to Yumi. "What do you suppose we do now? I'd presume the others should know about this, unless they already heard..."

Yumi smirked. "This is kind of a good thing." She whispered.

She took Fulmen's hand. "This is fine isn't it? It's just I test...I think." She said.

"We do this to get to the next test it,okay."  She said.

As the elevator pinged, Sylar smiled. "You'll see mate. I am not going to fail this test." He said, walking over to the elevator. Sylar walked into the elevator, and pressed the button. The elevator rose up slowly, the light flashing on and off. His maniacal smile remained intact. The elevator pinged, and Sylar walked out the doors. Rasiel, Humm, Xander, Robert, and Joshua stood there. "Miss me?" Sylar said cockily. He unfurled his large black wings. "As you can see, Xi gave me a gift. I am now more powerful than ever.

(Woah... did you absorb one of the Replicas?)

 

"Who are you!?" Humm demanded. "And where did you get those?" Something seemed oddly familiar about them... He felt a connection. Humm knew to an extent that he came from something else but only that much. He sensed something similarly from this newcomer. What was going on?

(Oh geez...)

 

"I...I guess so." Fulmen said, unsure of what to do. Here he was, in this room, before some sort of elevator, with Yumi holding his hand. There was only two options for this, and Fulmen knew exactly what was going to happen next.

"L-let's just get this over with. I want to see where this takes us." Fulmen nodded to the elevator. His face was slightly reddened from his flush, his muscles stiffening a bit. Ozone rose in the air as his anxiety increased, yet he hoped it wouldn't start shocking anyone.

A being identical to Lira appeared behind her. "Quite the costume." He said. He appeared exactly the same, aside from the fact that his cloak and shirt were nowhere to be seen, his brown wings hung behind his back, his torso covered in scars of a past endeavor. "But what do you intend to do with it?" He walked toward Lira. His yellow eyes gazing into hers. "Well?"

Later in the night Ren awoke, heart hammering in his chest.  What had caused his disturbing awakening he wasn't sure.  He reasoned that it was perhaps from suffering the shock of losing a fellow comrade not very long ago.  Instantly his gaze traveled towards Kilek, who appeared fine.  Sleeping, but fine.  The others seemed perfectly at ease as well, except--

Lira was gone.

Swiftly leaping to his feet, Ren moved to Neisan's side and abruptly shook his shoulder.  "Hey, Neisan," he whispered loudly, urgently.  "Where'd the old lady go?"

Someone was shaking him. That much at least was apparent to Neisan. Then he heard his name. "All right, all right." he mumbled as he struggled out of the depths of sleep. He opened his eyes and saw: Ren standing over him with a worried expression, Kilek sleeping soundly, Tsuna curled up in a corner, a small crack in the roof that could leak if it were raining, and Lira. Wait. No Lira. What? Neisan's mind snapped to attention. "What happened? Where's the new person?" He jumped up and rushed outside. He was confronted with the spectacle of two Sikotas, one with a shirt and one without. Neisan leaped back several feet and primed his lasers and mega laser. A hum filled the air as Neisan shot a questioning glance at the two Sikotas. "Mind explaining to me what's going on, Sikota? Or should I just blast both of you?"

"Dang it." Sikota muttered under his breath. He knocked the cloaked version of him to the side and dashed toward Neisan, tackling him into the ground. He jumped up, and dashed towards the radio tower. "Can't let them see me. Gosh dang it, I'm supposed to be dead! They can't be chasing after me when I'm dead!"

"Are you going to kill me too?" Rasiel asked, changing into her demon form, she swallowed hard as she felt a small leftover current of electricity from Karu/Xi's collar leave her. The last remaining shock from the collar.
She let go of Xander's hand, grabbing the metal balls, she rolled them around for a second.
"These are useless..." She sighed, throwing them.
One hit Skylar's head, and the other two missed.
"Dang it...I suck without Karu here...I can't even throw little metal balls...I wonder if there's a way to help me...maybe I could in this form...make a clone of him..." She said in a rather high pitched, innocent, dark voice.
