So it begins.

 

I have gathered them here. They know nothing yet. That will change soon. I wonder how they will take to each other. Time will tell. Regardless, no more time can be wasted. The Experiment must now begin. Time to wake them up...

 

"Good morning. Welcome to the next part of your life."

 

The voice rang out in all of their ears. Earpieces, firmly attached in the ears of all of them. Inside came the unnerving and unnaturally changed voice on the other end. One by one, after hearing the voice, each of the subjects began to wake. Lying on the shore of a short beach was Yumi Yuki Ai, Ember Mors, Luce Angelo, Hazimie Azhar, and Rasiel Kasaragi. The wind blew over them as they lay sprawled over the sand in close proximity to each other. Just as they had been placed. Next to the beach was a mix of jungle and swamp that went deeper into the mainland. Besides that the beach was mostly barren. A wrecked fishing boat was rusted and decaying within walking distance, but nothing more. The waves lapped up on the shore softly...

 

Miles away lay an abandoned collection of bunkers and buildings. They surrounded an airstrip. Rusted machine parts lay strewn about, and any sign of activity at the airstrip had long since faded. On the ground in the middle of the airstrip lay several more people. Ren Cabret, Neisan, Kilek North, Tsuna Sasaki, and Sikota Urinakano. Two desolate bunkers flanked the airstrip they were on, with a control tower at the end of the strip. Forest flanked the airstrip on all sides, with a single winding road leading out. The wind cut through the trees and sliced past the bunkers onto the airstrip. Only the wind and the trees provided any sound to the desolate military installation...

 

Deep in the jungle was a pair of rusted jeeps parked next to a crumbling house. The jeeps were long past functioning, and their engines were removed recently as well. The house sat surrounded by the trees with a single road leading somewhere further into the jungle. Inside the house were the four other subjects; Robert Evans, Karu Kasaragi, Fulmen Aizen, Xander Steel, and Locke Stern. Part of the roof of the house had caved in, and most of the belongings and furniture were gone. Remaining in the house were a few pots and pans, and single picture in an imaculate frame on a table in the room where the four people were laying. Silence pervaded the house...

 

On this island the Experiment is to be conducted. The island itself is only a few miles across, but its jungles, beaches, and bunkers hold long-kept secrets. These people now find themselves as part of a deadly game. They will have to get to know each other, and work together to discover what is sought from them, and in the process they must learn what they seek themselves.

 

The voice buzzed through their earpeices once more.

 

"Time to wake up. The Experiment has begun. You won't want to be asleep for this... Wake up and meet your new friends... and enemies. Wake up...

 

...the game has begun."

"I guess so." Fulmen replied, his face having gone fully red now.

I..I guess I do like her too? But..I don't want to hide into a shell if she dies. Damn it, Xi. Fulmen thought, turning his attention back to Yumi. "Let's...get this done. We..we shouldn't hesitate any longer."

(*cue Re:CoM's Thirteenth Struggle music*)

 

Joshua, still sealed within his own shadow, dashed ahead at light, or rather, dark-speed to Sylar. Once it nearly made contact with Sylar, the shadow gloomed and overshrouded Sylar in a field of shadow. Only Joshua and Sylar stuck out from the darkness,with Humm, Rasiel, Xander, and the remaining Karu outside. Joshua dissapeared into the shadow beside him, coming with a slice to the right of Sylar in a few moments, only to disappear again, and come back from behind with a slice of shadow.

 

Lira snickered at whoever was behind her. The blue streak of lightning transmuted her again. She now had the wings and scars, etcetera-- everything depicting the person's appearance. "Who, now? You're just talking to yourself." Lira said with a snicker, sarcastically teasing the man.

Yumi nodded slowly. "I know..." She whispered.

She leaned in closer. As she felt her face go red and she pressed her lips go onto him. She felt her face go even more red. Her mind started to race with different thoughts.

Lira turned back to the normal Sikota look now. "Now then." *ahem* Lira cleared her throat. "I'll handle them." Lira spoke in a perfect Sikota imitation voice. (S)he grinned and began walking towards the group in the shed again.

Just before the elevator , Xander felt the familiar presence of the one inside of it

 

"It's him..!!" He said just before the doors opened

 

He turned his body trying to position it in front of Rasiel

 

Then the doors opened and Sylar emerged

 

[No] Xander thought in reply to Sylar's question

 

A shiver almost went down his spine when he saw Sylar's new "upgrades"

 

Then Rasiel let go of his hand

 

"Hm!!" He looked at her curiously

 

[Good idea!! Using the balls as weapo....] He stopped as only one ball plunked on Sylar's head

 

[Never mind]

 

Then Rasiel spoke

 

"No way, Ras.."

 

Joshua jumped in and cut him off

Sylar felt the metal ball hit his head. "What did you think that was going to do?" He asked, miffed, as the small ball fell onto the ground. Then Joshua took him into the darkness dimension. "You think this'll stop me? I am Sylar! Your shadows can't touch me!" He cried out. He raised a telekinetic shield, blocking both the slices that came at him. After the second slice, Sylar turned and grabbed Joshua by the neck. "You are the least of my problems. Or maybe that bratty bird is? Possibly that weakling phaser? Or the inferior telekinetic? Demon babe? Wait, the least of my problems is her dead brother. Shooting himself to save his sister? Ridiculous way to die really." Sylar spoke, throwing Joshua to the ground, using Sikota's strength (now his) and his telekinesis to augment his body further. Sylar brought his other arm down and reached for Joshua, beginning to freeze his hand.

Whelp. This...is going better than expected. Fulmen thought, unsure of what exactly to do. So far, his best bet was to just to keep kissing, and hope to God Xi wasn't laughing his sick little head off.

Maybe, yes. I guess I do love Yumi. Fulmen then realized. He was glad to be sheltered from the rest for the moment, getting this one moment of reprieve. But would it last for long?

 

(And while Yumi and Fulmen kiss...everyone else is in some big fight. Nice.)

(Actually Sodom, Joshua put himself and Sylar into a pocket dimension of shadow. And please stop calling him Skylar.)

As soon as Ember's and Luce's attacks impacted, Isaac used the carbon within his skin to harden into a black skin tissue of carbon fiber that deflected Ember's deadly attack. After, he quickly ran and swept under Luce, stabbing upwards right after. He then threw several direct knife throws to Ember's feet as his skin turned to normal.The shadow of Joshua went over Joshua's skin and under the sheet of ice completely, crashing into the ice in all directions it was in. The ice broke and the shadow reverted from his hand as it attacked everywhere from the shadowy field, including the ground. "Sylar...." He mumbled as he sent blades of shadow spiraling around himself for offense and defense simultaneously. "...Don't go near Rasiel or Xander." 

Yumi pulled away."I enjoyed that." She told Fulmen.

Her face was still red and she licked her lips. "That was..I wish I could do that more." She smiled.

"Now Xi should take us down." She said.

Ren watched as Neisan departed out the door in a dash, readjusting his lasers in the process.  He strode out the door, halting in his tracks upon the scene before him.  Neisan was on the ground, with another man approaching him.  He resembled Sikota in every way, except...

 

"How?" Ren managed weakly, watching Sikota bewilderedly.  "My God, I thought you were dead."

The camera in the booth/elevator flashed. Out of a small slit came a single photograph of the moment of the kiss.

 

"So you won't forget it." Xi's voice dripped with foreboding.

 

The booth suddenly shot downward with ridiculous speed. After a few moments it slowed and then stopped. It was in the center of a well-lit test lab-looking room. A huge blast door sat on one of the far walls.

 

"Such budding love the two of you have. The question is; can it survive? Welcome to the next test. Step out of the booth. The rules are simple. You both will fight each other. When one of you is unconscious, or dead, I will issue orders to the winner, who will be the one to advance. The loser will be subjected to a different fate, though revealing more would give away too much. You have your rules. Time to play the game of love and war."

 

Ren watched as Neisan departed out the door in a dash, readjusting his lasers in the process.  He strode out the door, halting in his tracks upon meeting Lira.  The redhead tilted his head curiously.  "Oh, there you are," he said, glancing around her.  "I was wondering where you'd went.  And, uh, where's Neisan, have you seen him?"

 

It was strange, as if Neisan had vanished entirely.  Ren received bad vibes from the old woman that stood before him, though his better judgment was clouded by desperation.

Gah, thank you; I'd missed that.  Now, off to go change my post...

Fulmen stepped out the elevator, flabbergasted at Xi's words. Yet, he somehow expected it.

"You're too predictable Xi." Fulmen whispered, "Everything you do can be so easily predicted...I don't know why I didn't see it in the first place." Fulmen whispered, turning to Yumi with a bit of tears in his eyes.

"What do we do, Yumi? I...I..I don't know what to do..." Fulmen said, sounding defeated. He looked around, angry that it had to come out this way. As his emotions flared-- so did the smell of ozone. The sound of popping started, a speck or two of static flashing across Fulmen's arms.

After Sylar trapped himself and Joshua inside...basically a different dimension, Rasiel let the daggers fade away back into darkness. She without a word picked up Karu's weapons and placed them back into her pocket. Rasiel transformed back into her human form, looking at Xander.

"You were trying to say something Xander...?" she asked.

Thinking for a moment, Rasiel looked down and backed up some, hiding behind Xander.

"You are afraid of my demon side aren't you? Understand this Xander.....Karu was the only one I had left...he was the one who kept me from doing completely stupid stuff. Karu kept me practically alive. I don't know what to do now. I don't know if I need to play my games again...and then everything will be okay. I don't know if I need to kill Xi and Sylar. I don't know if I need to kill myself. I don't know if I need to let myself die. I don't know if I could trust you and treat you like I did Karu. The thing is...I can't treat you like Karu, Xander. You are not my brother, meaning that I can never be that sweet, childish, overprotective Rasiel I was...I can't help it Xander. I am a puppet with strings in a play called life...voiced and pulled by a dead brother who can't tell a story or pull broken strings. " she said to him, trusting someone to tell her true feelings about what has happened today.

There was silence for a while.

"You are the first who has ever heard that...Xander, Karu doesn't know that..." Rasiel said, now looking up at her comrade.

Yumi took the picture. Tears formed in her eyes. "I want you to go ahead...just promise me to live." She said.

She felt her knees go weak and she fell to the floor. "Just hurry up and do it." She said.

She looked at the floor."I hope I can see you again." She said.

Rasiel and Xander were suddenly interrupted by a loud alarm.

 

"You didn't think this test would be so easy as for Sylar to be your only opponent, did you?" Xi's voice came through their earpieces.

 

The other elevator door opposite from the one Sylar entered from suddenly rumbled. Something was coming. There was a long pause as the rumbling came closer. Then the doors opened.

 

Kijiya. The elevator itself was in fact a sort of confinement, with a variety of chains and locks restrained him inside the elevator. There was a shelf of a variety of weapons next to him. Swords, maces, daggers.  Suddenly the chains unlocked at once, and clanged loudly to the floor. Kijiya was now free. Things were about to get very interesting.

 

"You all play nice now."

(Someone needs to get Hazimine....I think this was his character...)

 

Rasiel barely budged when Kijiya made his appearance. She didn't even transform into her demon form. She grabbed one of Karu's weapons out of her poket, throwing it at Kijiya, it successfully hit him in the head.

"Oops...my bad..." she said quietly yet sarcastically.
