So it begins.

 

I have gathered them here. They know nothing yet. That will change soon. I wonder how they will take to each other. Time will tell. Regardless, no more time can be wasted. The Experiment must now begin. Time to wake them up...

 

"Good morning. Welcome to the next part of your life."

 

The voice rang out in all of their ears. Earpieces, firmly attached in the ears of all of them. Inside came the unnerving and unnaturally changed voice on the other end. One by one, after hearing the voice, each of the subjects began to wake. Lying on the shore of a short beach was Yumi Yuki Ai, Ember Mors, Luce Angelo, Hazimie Azhar, and Rasiel Kasaragi. The wind blew over them as they lay sprawled over the sand in close proximity to each other. Just as they had been placed. Next to the beach was a mix of jungle and swamp that went deeper into the mainland. Besides that the beach was mostly barren. A wrecked fishing boat was rusted and decaying within walking distance, but nothing more. The waves lapped up on the shore softly...

 

Miles away lay an abandoned collection of bunkers and buildings. They surrounded an airstrip. Rusted machine parts lay strewn about, and any sign of activity at the airstrip had long since faded. On the ground in the middle of the airstrip lay several more people. Ren Cabret, Neisan, Kilek North, Tsuna Sasaki, and Sikota Urinakano. Two desolate bunkers flanked the airstrip they were on, with a control tower at the end of the strip. Forest flanked the airstrip on all sides, with a single winding road leading out. The wind cut through the trees and sliced past the bunkers onto the airstrip. Only the wind and the trees provided any sound to the desolate military installation...

 

Deep in the jungle was a pair of rusted jeeps parked next to a crumbling house. The jeeps were long past functioning, and their engines were removed recently as well. The house sat surrounded by the trees with a single road leading somewhere further into the jungle. Inside the house were the four other subjects; Robert Evans, Karu Kasaragi, Fulmen Aizen, Xander Steel, and Locke Stern. Part of the roof of the house had caved in, and most of the belongings and furniture were gone. Remaining in the house were a few pots and pans, and single picture in an imaculate frame on a table in the room where the four people were laying. Silence pervaded the house...

 

On this island the Experiment is to be conducted. The island itself is only a few miles across, but its jungles, beaches, and bunkers hold long-kept secrets. These people now find themselves as part of a deadly game. They will have to get to know each other, and work together to discover what is sought from them, and in the process they must learn what they seek themselves.

 

The voice buzzed through their earpeices once more.

 

"Time to wake up. The Experiment has begun. You won't want to be asleep for this... Wake up and meet your new friends... and enemies. Wake up...

 

...the game has begun."

Yumi saw that another had walked over a joined the group. "Hello,I'm Yumi Yumi Ai." She told him.

She then looked at Fulmen."Thank you Fulmen I'm glad that you agree." She told him. 

She yawned."Now is there a place to rest 'round here?" She asked.

Neisan examined Sikota's wings. "They're pretty damaged, but you probably already knew that. You have severe burns along the outer areas, but the base of the wings seem fine. Make sure the breeze is a cool one. Hot air would only agitate the wounds."

"Indeed I do." Ren raised a skeptical brow.  "However, I'm failing to see how wind could benefit us here."  Despite Ren's bewilderment, he extended an arm in Sikota's direction, palm facing towards him.  For a moment it seemed as though nothing happened,  until a cool, gentle wind swept over them, rustling their hair across their cheeks.  The temperature was neither warm nor cold, but the type of breeze one would expect to feel on a fine spring day.

 

"There," he said at last, once the calm wind had subsided.  "Does that help you any?"  He then tilted his head in the direction of the bunker.  "For, if you're feeling up to it, I believe we should proceed into that bunker if we ever want to get home."

 

Home...  Ren struggled to remember exactly what that was.

Gosh Ren has been gone for a while, Tsuna though as she started getting bored and a bit impatient. Tsuna got up from where she was sitting ever since Ren left slowly took the hey out of Kilek's hand and rubbed her fingers on it. We should probably go inside the bunkers now, she thought, Ren will come back eventually. Tsuna went up to one of the bunker's door and slid the key into the keyhole and started turned it. There was a click sound and Tsuna turned the handle and pushed the door open 

...The door clicked open. Engraved on the top of the door was a small panel labeled with the words "Be Ready". Heat suddenly blasted out of the door. It was not just warm- it was scorching. Inside the door was a hallway that led downward. On the far end of the hallway, a 20-second's sprint distance from the entrance was the door to the other side. The heat shot out from the bunker once the door was opened but it didn't merely stop. It was then that it became clear- the walls of the hallway were heavily modified, with strange machines built into them. The entire hallway acted as a gigantic oven. It wasn't too hot, though.... the trip to other side would be survivable. It just had to be quick. That wasn't the last bit of it either... three mobile machines moved along the wall- from each shot out a single precision cutting laser. They didn't seem impossibly difficult to cross, but combined with the ridiculous heat...

 

"Welcome" Xi's voice broke the silent shock.

 

"Welcome to the next test."

 

Silence soaked the moment after Xi's words. Just enough time for the danger of the moment to be fully realized. Xi's voice disappeared with one last comment... a repetition.

 

"The only way out is forward."

(Sorry I havent posted in a while. I've been rather busy lately, ive only had time to look at the RP, and ive had a mental block on what to post. Can someone give me a recap on whats happening right now?)

Tsuna squinted a little as the sudden heat rush hit her face. All she saw was a hallway and some lasers zapping from the sides. "What the..." she muttered. "Okay,heat.....if i can use fire then i can deal with the heat..." Tsuna stepped out of the way of the heat current blasting out of the door and soaked in the last of the cool air from outside. the next test, Tsuna heard echo in her head. Here goes nothing, she thought and ran  inside, not bothering to close the door behind her just in case Ren came back

Luce had heard the voice, but was too drowsy to fully wake. He had opened his eyes and seen many other people laying on the beach, but on this second, much later glimpse he saw that he was now alone.

 

Luce took his best efforts to dust the sand off of his tuxedo and stood up, finally examining his environment...

Sikota heard the bunker open and the radiation of the heat. "Boy, that felt good!" He said, his wings were already going from ashen black to their old chocolatey brown. "Now to take care of something." He dashed towards the bunker. I can get through fast enough no problem. He thought to himself. He made fast enough that Kilek probably barely noticed him, he ran into the bunker and slowed down, sliding in front is Tsuna. "I can assume you probably wouldn't have a problem in here." The heat was intense, his lack if shirt made it slightly more bearable but he was already sweating, especially between his wings. "See you on the other side. Call out if you need anything." He jumped back going really far really fast, he adjusted his position and continued his sprint. Only a few steps in, he tripped, sliding further along the ground. "Well that's a problem." he said, currently unable to get back up.

... Luce found the beach empty. There were sounds of strife deep into the jungle, but they seem miles away. The people that had been at the beach before were now seemingly gone. However, it seemed there was still a trail to follow... on the beach, in the sand was a newly revealed metallic passageway. As Luce woke he heard someone open the door into the underground passageway. Another person was over there!

(Kilek was with Tsuna next to the bunker. On the outskirts a little ways Neisan and Sikota fought each other, both doing fairly well until Sikota ended up pretty badly hurt. Ren ran over to see what the commotion was about. Sikota was badly hurt, but when Neisan shouted outloud that they needed some sort of medicine he recieved a personalize message from Xi saying only "The only way out it forward." The three then decided it was about time to head over to the bunker and see what was inside. Tsuna then took the key to the bunker and opened it, revealing a sort of micro-wave hallway with 3 precision heat lasers moving about within. The hallways was incredibly deadly-looking, with overwhelming heat and mobile lasers. Xi then contacted the Airstrip group and welcomed them to the next test.)

(I apologize for not keeping up w/ everyone, Ima try to explain why Kilek had done anything in this post)

 

Kilek had remained silently up to this point, he had entered a deep train of thought, trying to see if he could figure something out about the island the mysterious Xi. In his thought, his companions had grown impatient and entered one of the bunkers. Kilek followed, still silent. He couldnt fathom why he was pulled into this experiment, even with his powers, they paled in comparison to the others he met.

 

Kilek was shocked, or more likey scroched out of his deep thought when he saw that he entered an over sized oven. The heat and lasers was just insane. The voice in his ear, "the way out is forward" he had to get throught his!? How on earth was he gonna pull that off?

 

He tried to go ahead, try to move, but he couldnt. There was no way he could avoid the lasers in this heat. So he stood there, paralyzed with fear

Neisan saw the bunker doors open, and Sikota dashed inside. The heat was incredible, and Neisan's thick armor didn't help. Neisan knew he needed some kind of cooling system for his armor. After a few minutes, he had some tubes, water, and a cooling agent he found in one of the vehicle's radiators. Neisan's hands flew. A couple more minutes and the armor had a water-cooled system. "That out to do it." With that, Neisan dashed into the bunker. His armor's hydraulic legs helped him move fast, and the water-coolant kept him from over heating. He blasted a couple of the lasers along the way. "Hey, guys. I made it. Too hot for ya?" A grin cracks across Neisan's face, and he starts laughing.

 

"Come on, Kilek, you can make it! I took out a couple of the lasers for ya! Just make a dash for it!"

Tsuna tried to concentrate on moving deeper into the hallway and keep the heat from getting to her head. She quickly ducked her upper body back from getting hit by a laser and tried to regain her balance. She turned back and tried to shoot at the machine with a fireball but she lost focus and missed. Arrgh, she thought and quickened her pace. After avoiding more lasers she made it to the door. Tsuna frantically tried to open it but it was locked. She gave a deep sigh, placed her hand on the handle and the handle caught on fire, starting to melt. She could hear the other far behind but she was too hot and dizzy to call for them

Without much thought, Luce slowly crept to the metallic passage, doing his best not to stumble from his current wake. As he approached, he began to think back on a time when he was 9, where a house maid told him not to play in his old mansion's cellar. He had sneaked like this all those years ago. He went to the cellar anyway. He accidentally bumped into a wine keg, causing it to fall from its perch on a shelf and split open on the floor. His father had whipped him...

 

Luce reached the metal gate and peered inside.

Neisan turned around and saw the tunnel extend further. "There's more? That's annoying." Neisan carefully took aim at the lasers and shot them down before beginning to run again. He the reached the door where Tsuna was. "Let me help!" Neisan began pounding on the door with his machine-boosted strength. "Try and melt the lock by the handle! If we can get that, then we should be able to knock this thing down!"

The heat was unbearable. If Kilek was a shark, then he was a fried one right now. He heard Neisan call otu and saw that a few lasers were gone, he decided that of he was gonna make it, he'd have to move NOW. He ran, the heat making him disoriented, the hallway wanst that long, but the heat made it seem 10 feet longer.

 

Kilek was approaching one of the lasers, going to attempt a slide to avoid it, but as he began to slide, he lost his balance and slipped, his hands flailed in the air, almost getting seared my the laser, but his hand came back down fast enough that the laser barely missed him, searing off the edge of one of his rings

Who the heck was this guy, Tsuna thought as he came up to her. Well nevermind that, i'll find out later. Tsuna raised the flames in her hand on the handle and the handle melted faster until it was nothing but sticky metal in her palms. Ow, she muttered shaking the hot metal off her hand, which left a burn mark on her hand. While the guy was punding on the door, Tsuna kicked the door hard with her foot and it slowly fell to the ground with a thud...

Neisan pounded, but to no avail. The girl had nearly melted through the door handle. Then, with a mighty kick, the door fell inward. "Hey, where's Sikota?" Neisan looked back into the tunnel. Sikota was still there. "Come on! We need to get out of here! The door is open!"

"Hope he doesn't steal her from me." Sikota muttered to himself, rolling out of the way of a laser. He lifted himself and launched himself forward, barely making it to the door before crashing in front of Tsuna and Neisan. "Hate to look like this in front of her, but... wanna' give me a hand?"

"Sure." Neisan helped Sikota up. "We got the door down. Now we just need to wait for Kilek. Where is he at?" Neisan looked back down the passage, his eyes squinting in the heat haze.

"Nice to meet you Yumi. My name's Robert Evans." Robert said, "As far as where to rest is concerned, I'm afraid the house is off limits. It can fall apart any moment, so..."

 

Just then, the house finally collapsed.

 

Robert turned around towards the now demolished house, surprised. "Wow, talk about timing"

"We better find some shelter or something." Rasiel sighed.

"The best bet would be to stay outside. Inside isn't safe judging by what we've seen today." Karu said.

By this point, Rasiel was starting to play her PSP.

"Outside sounds nice." she stated.

"As long as I get Karu." she added with a smirk.
