In an interview with Geoff Keighley on GT.TV, Nintendo designer and Super Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto said that when Mario is in need of another brother, one may be created for him.

I think we have enough guys in the Nintendo Universe. I mean there's already Wario & Waluigi. Don't forget to mention Waluigi doesn't have his own game. So instead of adding a new brother, Nintendo should concentrate more on creating a game centering Waluigi; I mean this guy needs some love.

I would love to see a Waluigi game,Seriously Wario has his own series and franchise,Luigi has his own Luigi Mansion games and Mario is the mascot of Nintendo.Waluigi also deserves some love y'know

I was under the assumption that Toad was kind of the adopted, misunderstood little brother, on who's head everyone like to bounce.

That's just getting pretty weird.  I mean seriously, we've got Luigi, Wario, and Waluigi; why another Mario-esque figure?  I kind of think we've got enough to keep us busy for a while.  Maybe they could focus on Rosalina or Daisy more instead--that could be interesting.

If there ever were another I'd guess he would be a muscular guy with blue clothes named Giovanni.

Mario - Fat - Red - Stereotypical Italian name

Luigi - Skinny - Green - Stereotypical Italian name

 

Though my first thought was purple clothes, don't know why. After I thought about it I realized that Blue would fit better because of the RGB color spectrum computers use.
