I hated the first one but I will definitely give Sea of Monsters a chance since the director is different. Percy Jackson is my favorite book series, so I hope they give it the proper treatment with this one. There is potential with the world set up in the first film. Actually, I probably would have at least rented Sea of Monsters had it had the same director as the first film.

Sea of Monsters is abotu to b released and having seen a rough cut of the film, I can tell u that there are a lot of uncanny KH connecitons to Sea of Monsters. 

 

As you may see below here, The mail room looks an awful lot like the mail room in DDD(its at 1:31)

As well i can tell you that It's a Small World will be Featured in the movie like it ways in BBS

 

As well, Kronos looks an awful lot like the Invisible heartless. 

 

There are a lot of different themes in the film that are VERY much like KH! When watching it, I had a VERY high KH feel to it like i was wathcign a film verison of KH!

I think because you like KH and are looking for KH you are finding things that weren't intentionally based on KH but seem similar to you.  If you look for something hard enough you will always find it.  I don't seen many similarities between the movie and the game, other than both being adventures based on fantasy and the classic* 2 boys 1 girl trio.

To me the mail room looks like a standard mail room (and I've been in them, my father was a post man) so I don't see the connection there.  Of course you are free to post whatever you like I'm just saying my opinion on the matter is that you've found similarities because you were looking for them or were feeling the same emotions during the movie that you felt during KH.

Ya there r a LOT of KH vibes i got whilest seeing the film, it really reminded me of KH and i'm not just saying that

Percy Jackson sea of monster movie... My thoughts? Just go read the books. I felt very irritated towards the end of the movie.

Its soooo much better the second time, if you just separate it from the books and do not think abotu the criticisms its actually good, ive seen waaay worse movies and saw a lot of potential shoudl the series continue! This one has a much more grounded script and actually feels more synchronized in its plot and works very well as a stand alone movie and a sequel setting up enough stuff but still remains its own movie.  They did change some thigns but they felt like things that could have happened in the book and it felt like they put a lot more effort into it (especially the script) comapred to the first film, they could have gone to a cafe, Circeland I thoguht was genius and hermes was well portrayed too, as a mailer, being a huge "messager" Seriously, the thigns that bothered me the first time didn't bother me as much, though I still think that the aciton could have been better protrayed and that it could have been at least 10-15 min longer, but then again for those that miss lost scenes, they may b on deleted scenes of DVD/Blu ray. I noticed a lot more things and got to really look at it as a film in general and not look at comparisons, which is sTUPID btw, EVERYTHING will always be different in some ways, even if they do have some things that are the same. "It sin't how you are alike, it is how you are not" 

 I believe we should give Sea of Monsters a chance. Its kind of like Thor is trying to redeem the series and give it the movie it deserves. Had TLT not screwed up so much they wouldn't have had a big problem but since many things were left out that were key (Kronos, Thalia,e etc.), he had to bring them back in and working with a low budget to make a movie this good is hard, but I believe he accomplished it. If it does well in the box office then TTC would come. And since all that they wanted to say and point out the missing pieces was in this movie it can flow nicely so they're not jamming everything really quickly. I believe Thor is the savior for this series. I loved this movies, it was witty, fast paced, the visuals and graphics were awesome, characterization was great (Tyson was adorably, Percy and Annabeth were more developed (to me), Clarrise was spot on as well as Thalia, Stanley Tucci was awesome as Mr D, Nathan Fillion WOW as Hermes), the soundtrack was awesome (Annabeth and the fleece was beautiful and magical like they took the golden fleece and put into music, To Feel Alive is AWESOME) and like everyone says closer and more loyal to the books. 

Added Note: Sure things are changed and left out in movies based on books, it happens with every one of them.

No, it failed because it sucked. Nothing you did contributed to it's failure, there was just never a dandelions chance in hell that it was going to make it succeed.
