Birth by Sleep has to be my least favorite game in the entire franchise for so many reasons....it's not a bad game by any means it's just an incredibly bleh one

 

There are several things about BBS that pissed me off that didn't exist in any other game in the series

 

1The bosses are the easiest in the series:

 

seriously the game has the easiest bosses I ever fought in the series even on proud and Critical mode they're not that challenging(Except for Terra-Xehanort he's hard as shit)

 

Vanitas in all of his encounters is a joke and his strategy can be summed up like this:attack twice and dodge with shotlock attacks ....rence and repeat until he's done for.Master Xehanort in his old form do nothing but staring at you the entire fight like an idiot and when he attacks he's so predictable.....I can go on about the bosses but the bottomline is....the bosses suck ass

 

2You're incredibly overpowered even without leveling up that much.The shotlock attacks and the limit break like modes when you fill up the gauge above the command menu makes the game much more easier than it should

 

3the D-Links are worthless....you''ll barely uses any of them with the exception of Zack...his D-link is pretty much a game breaker,in the Japanse version it can make bosses like the Final boss a walk in the park just because of how overpowered it is leveled up ot it's second level,yeah it has been nerfed down in the English version but still broken even if less than the Japanese version

 

4The last world in the game,the Keyblade Graveyard, is absolutely dissapointing,it's too short and boring and you can easily dodge the unversed tornado vortexes and proceed to the last area except if you want to grind and level up

 

5There is barely any difference between TerraAquaVentus 's version  of the worlds you revisit and most of the time you visit the exact same locations and fight the exact same boss you fought with the other character(Fighting the magical mirror twice in Dwarfwood land is pointless and barely adds anything to the story when you fight it as Aqua)

At least in KH2 your second visit means something because you see more of the story and you fight a different boss than the one you fought in your first visit

 

 

 

6Some story elements is just out there and some of them doesn't make sense,characters like Eraqus comes out as bland and does stupid decisions.

 

7The mini-games are nice but they're not that fun for a long time and they can get boring really fast

 

8It started the trend of giving EVERYONE a keyblade that made the weapon less unique.Seriously we almost have 13 wielders(14 if you count Young Xehanort) if you count all characters that can wield one....and the explanation on how Kairi got her Keyblade from Aqua is really dumb(Yeah I'm gonna accidentaly touch a Keyblade Wielder and become one myself....derp)Don't give me that crap that her heart is qualified to wield one because that would mean any douche with a strong heart can get his own keyblade

 

Nomura's biggest fault with the franchise is the over-abundance of keyblade wielders.Seriously at this point I can expect Cinderella to turn her high-heel shoes into a keyblade and join Kairi.....we almost got 14 Keyblade Wielders(Sora,Riku,Kairi,Mickey,Terra,Aqua,Ventus,Xehanort,Eraqus,Vanitas,Roxas,Xion,AxelLea,and Young Xehanort if you want to count him) with almost eleven of them still active.That made the keyblade lost most of it's uniqueness of having only the chosen ones to have it

 

 

 

Birth by Sleep is not bad it's really not....it's just for me the most boring one and the optional bosses doesn't add anything to the game unless you're playing Final Mix  in Which you need to beat all of them as a part of the requirements to unlock the secret Episode

 

Now I know the number of people who'll rip my flesh and soul for saying that and say:Nah you suck BBS is the best in the series TerraAquaVentus are awesome and should be the main protagonists and save the day ninaninanina

 

I just said my opinion and experience with the game and I remember I posted a thread like this almost half-year ago but there are things I forgot to mention  back then

Dude,I never said the game is bad,I just said my legitimate reasons for why it's my least favorite....I still think the game is good....just not as good as everyone says

I agree that it makes the key blade feel less  special. Riku and sora were crying over it in kh 1. But if there enough wielders to start a keyblade how hard could it be to conjour one? I think the introduction of the mark of mastery element shows that it's not just about having a keyblade, it's also about how you use it and how skilled you are with it

the two keyblades are sora's and ventus's just in  a different form

Since we're talking keyblades, I'd like to see Sora weild Ventus's real Keyblade at least once.

 

P.S. The Ven pic you use for your signature reminds me of Joey Wheeler from Yu-Gi-Oh!

BBS doesn't really piss me off.

 

Yeah, the worlds are kinda barren and the levels repetitive, but the gameplay is so much better than in KH2, the plot makes a lot more sense and the ending is really dark and tragic. It's all about failure. And heroes and villains have personal connections. 

 

Admittedly, I wish Aqua had more to do than battle the possessed evil versions of her friends, but oh well.

 

Nonetheless, I keep imagining an alternate version of BBS:

 

This BBS has a playable Mickey instead of Ven. It'd be so cool to finally have a Disney key-blader, it would remove a Roxas double from continuity and it would make more sense in the Cinderella world, where mice are small-sized.

 

-Each world would have its own common enemies, instead of Unversed, who are basically pro to-Heartless in this game.

 

Mickey's journey would be about his keyblade training under Yen Sid, but also about him becoming king. His Father, the original king, is murdered and Mickey is framed for the job. He has to clear his name and bring the true culprit - Pete - to justice. 

 

Also, MX wouldn't exist. Instead, the story would be about a white-haired young man named Terra, a fan of the myths of a long-dead legendary keyblade warrior named Xehanort. Terra would leave his training after not winning the mark of mastery, seeking out the X-blade of Xehanort, said to be most powerful key blade in the realm, gradually turning into a villain and succumbing to the power of darkness. After finding it, he would use it to separate whatever remaining good is inside him to become a warrior of pure darkness, his good taking up his discarded armor.

 

He would then resolve to take over all worlds by releasing an army of darkness (heartless) via opening a portal to the realm of darkness and summoning its hellish forces. Aqua tries to stop him from unleashing the army. 

 

I imagine an exchange such as this:

 

-Terra, please. Stop this, it's not too late!

 

-Terra? What a pathetic name! All my life, I've had to put up with it, to put up with people mocking me for being named after the Earth itself. But no more! From this day forth, I'll be Xehanort. Yes, Xehanort, the seeker of darkness!

 

-Very well, "Xehanort". Prepare to die!

 

 So, Terra is the original Xehanort. He merely changed his name, like he would do later.

 

Eh, that's my dream-prequel anyway.
