Hey everyone. This is my second thread about a new game console/ handheld. Well this time, Nintendo has announced the WiiDs. Here is whatc gameinformer has to say!

 

A Closer Look At The Nintendo WiiDs

Last month, Nintendo revealed thats its surprise hardware announcement was not an HD Wii as many had speculated, but instead a hybrid of handheld and console gaming: the WiiDs (pronounced "weeds") After some hands-on time with the system, we break down all of the key features and improvements.

 

A: Visuals: The graphics will look the same as those on the wii and ds, which are already basically indistinguisable.

 

B: Game Slot: Not compatible with any previous wii or ds games, the WiiDs uses a proprietary format thatv only allows you to play downloaded Virtual Cinsole titles. This will result in practically no change in Nintendo fans current gaming habits.

 

C: Compact Size: The WiiDS is about the same size as the Dsi XL, but less portable. This means that it will take up minimal space as it sits unused in your enterteinment center.

 

Now here is what the picture looks like. I have no actual picture I mgiht be able to find one from the internet, so I will describe it. It looks like the wii, but on the side, is a ds sticking from the side. It is not flat, but a little out of the wii. The two screens are not attached.

 

Well the 3ds, i will buy if i can save enough money, but the wiids does not look like it is going to be a big hit. I will put up more information as learn more, and also, i think it is a stupid name of how it is pronounced. I mean, isnt nintendo for kids mainly? Looks at its name. pronounced weeds.

All this information is true, as i got it out of gameinformer April issue, and this info is on page38.

The same people who bought a console with a name that sounds like a child's nickname for urine.

Eh hem, the april edition? Shouldn't be obvious that it is a April Fools day prank. I can't find anything on the Net. I don't believe it.

It sounds incredibly ridiculous and dumb. I do not believe it until I see it, but to name it "WiiDs" and pronounce it as "weeds," I can just imagine the type of conversations parents will overhear their children discussing to their friends... o_o

Nintendo can't come up with any good names anymore Weed come on lets go play the weed or play weed sounds like there on drugs. And i dont know about if i will get it or not since it sounds like you can't us discs or game cards so right now NO

No point of that just buy a DSi Lite and a Wii.

if it cant use ds cards than why on earth would i get it? the only reason i goit a ds if for kingdom hearts!

on the topic of the console/handheld thing, it sucks. nintendo is pushing it with how far they can take the wii and DS. they've done every trick they can, they shouldn't release much else until the next console

The Nintendo WiiDs is fake. It was a joke. Notice the GameInfarcer crap title, the whole "firing of the whole team" thing in the article and how they had a whole lot of other ridiculous things in the whole 4(maybe 5 pages i forget) such as "The Real Life DRM".

i said it was an untrustful site, the name would have been banned because it is remotely to do with drugs, and they wouldn't have released two new ds models at once, also not close to the ds XL

I did to when I first read the article, then I remembered it was the April issue.

I noticed something else, why would Nintendo release a console specifically for Virtual Console titles when they can just release a download pack in the wiiShop thing(my wii broke so I forgot what its called. I miss Brawl and New Super Mario Bros.)

I kinda posted that it was a joke and people still believed it....

 

And if you could only download stuff wouldn't it be like a Nintendo version of PSPgo?

By that logic, "Wii" should have been banned since "wee wee" is a term little kids use for "penis".

 

"Weed" is just a slang term. Weedwacker should be renamed too, right?

The console's name is WiiDs(weeds) which are damaging plant-like anti-vegetation and your referring to eat as weed which is slang for I think PCP (correct me if I'm wrong)

The obviousness of this being a prank is way too high. If it was real, for one, Nintendo Power would have probably gotten to it first, and two, it'd be elsewhere besides GameInformer.

i remember reading about a game which was originally meant to be a 12, but then theres was 1 drug reference, and became a 15. how sucky.
