When playing through a Final Fantasy (or, really, any RPG), which classes do you find you enjoy playing as the most: the Mages (White, Black, Blue, Red, etc.), or the more physical Fighters (including, but not limited to, Warriors, Dragoons, Thieves, Monks, etc.)?

 

I've always been a fan of the mages, myself. They take forever to master and level up, but it's always worth it if you do. Ultima always makes up for grinding.

fighters...its always been fighters

Mages.  I like attacking from a distance and using spells that go over a large area.  I also like being able to buff people and cure them.  Makes me feel useful.  I don't really like fighting up close since you're more likely to get hit

Up close and in your face with a hyper combo, fighters all the way

Fighters especially power hitters

Mages. Magic is always best.

Mages. Definately. Magic is just... I love it. White is very helpful so I always keep on in the battle. Same with Black. I love Black offensive. It's always my main guy, I train them harder than the rest.

I don't have a preference.  Fighters and mages provide their own changes, and which one I'll play as depends on my mood.  In terms of Final Fantasy, I try to keep a balance of both since fighters tend to be limited in what they can do, and mages have the defense of wet tissue paper.

Do I even need to say my opinion? I love my throat especially when I taunt at those who want my head!!!

Well of course I do enjoy spells too, I am Melee and Magic.

Mages... Why? Well...I don't know, They have devastating magic, can heal, buff others.

I know Zola's answer will be mages.

Fighters. Brute strength and insane combo's for the win. I abused Noel in XIII-2.

Fighters all the way, I just love boosting up so they can take out people/monsters with one attack/special move.

I like mages a lot. I also really like fighters. But when it comes down to it. If the mage is good enough I'd rather choose it.
