Hmmm...Good question....I guess that the answer could be where she was a creation of Vexen's, and where his specialty was ice. -shrugs- I don't know....it's just a guess.

i think its because when her body starts to fade crystals go up in the air and crystals reflect alot of light

Probably because all her memories were going back to Sora so she freezes up and shatters into the memories.

I thought it was just a dramatic affect

she wasnt fading away she was going back to sora the ice might have somthing to do with it but like i said its just a guess

I think it made it look more interesting and yeah I think the light had a lot of symbolism in it. When she shattered into pieces, I believe that is how she returned back to Sora, as a shatter of light and memories.

I'm guessing the light just came in the form of crystals, adding to the dramatic moment.

At first, I thought her freezing up related to the way Ventus froze up, but after a while, I didn't think that was it. Instead, I think her crystallizing is just a graceful way of her dying.

hmmph well what happened to her happened to ventus(but different reasons) also the reason why she freezed was bececause even though she was a nobody her heart didnt gave into the darkness she relyd on her friends and created her own memories allong with sora's even though she had soras memories she was still riku's nobody,this was becuase whn namine rearranged sora's memories it was scattered and some of it when isnide her.

I think that what happens when you willingly return to original self, like Roxas in FM.
