A running gag as a title. A silly way to more or less start my serious speech.

 

There are a number of prominent relationships here. To name a few, there's Inori and Sesshomaru which I can't help but ship passionately; there's Flaming Lea and Megaman X (formerly known as Xaon) who are getting married in just days if my count is correct; there's also me and my sweet Sodom. That's to name a few. I think I've figured what makes this place such a "dating site". To start, everyone here (aside from bots and people like NatronSpore) shares a common interest: a love for the same heart-warming videogame series. Secondly, should we take the time to get to know someone, we fall in love with their personality before their looks. Let's face it, one of the main reasons people feel compelled to ask someone out in person, is often primarily affected by their appearance. Relations here work in reverse. Coupled with the beginning common interest, that's my logic behind the loves that have blossomed here. Thank you for your time.

Having gone through two failed relationships that started on two different forums (one was long distance, the other was someone who lived quite close by), its not that the site itself becomes a dating site... Its just that its so easy to get caught up in other people's lives on the forum I guess. 

You already have the one common interest and then on top of that, people post a lot of details about their lives on forums because there's this sense that no one will judge you for it so you can talk about problems at home or at school and stuff. If you are active on a forum for a year or so, you probably will know more about some of the other members there than some of their IRL friends even know about them. 

And then its like, well you obviously like each other and you're both single so, why not see where it goes?
