The reason I'm asking this is because:

In Dissidia and Dissidia 012,those two games were described in their datalog as prequels to FF1 and it explained the origins of Garland and the character Cid of the Lufaine.

The origins of Garland were revealed in the Cosmos reports that you collect through the game(The chaos reports are all about the other villians)

And that the war of the gods between Cosmos and Chaos has occured before the event of FF1.If you remember Dissida's Ending, the Warrior of Light was walking towards the same castle from FF1 where Princess Sarah lives.

I know that the stories of the series so far are seperate but if you looked carefully at them you'll find things that ties them together in different timelines.

Again,I don't if Square Enix never confirmed that every game in the series are either connected or have nothing to do with each other

But think of this,if all heroes of the series were gathered in one game(Dissidia 012) that was actually a prequel to FF1

Does that mean that FF1 would be the last one in terms of occurance if a timeline for Final Fantasy actually exist???

I know some people here will tear me apart and say: NO ,FF GAMES HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH EACH OTHER.

But think about it,you can find many things hidden in the games that reference other games in the series in one way or another

Maybe there is something that connects all of them together.

And no,technological improvements in games like FF7 or FF13 doesn't prove that they might be far away in the future.

I know the planet has been named differently in some games but for most FF games the planet is named Gaia(Which obviously earth)

What if Gran Pulse(when it reforms again in the end of XIII timeline) becomes Gaia later on.

I know I could be wrong and I could be flammed by the FF fanbase like always. But I don't care,I just wanted to tell you guys what I think of.

I mean,if Zelda has it's own twists in their timeline despite differences between each Zelda game, what prevents Final Fantasy from having a timeline???

GT needs to get on this.

It probably does but we probably don't have enough information right now to judge what would go where in the timeline besides dissidia and FF1

I think the only games outside of their number that have been confirmed to have something to with each other are X and VII, right? Where the future of X is for them to pioneer space travel and populate Gaia (I think thats the planet in FFVII) or something?

Gaia is also the planet in FF9 alongside Planet Terra(the planet that Zidane and Kuja came from)

And I think the name Gaia applies for other games in the series

Yeah, I've actually heard that too.  In fact, I've heard that multiple times.

Yeah, Final Fantasy X is hinted to be a prequel thousands of years before VII. That's it.

Are the dissida games confirmed canon with the origional characters? I thought they were just spin offs.

I would like to see GT "get on this" as well.

I still remember having Cain Highwind in my party for Final Fantasy IV after meeting Cain Highwind as a kid in Final Fantasy II. It was awesome, especially since Ricard was an awesome party member and Cain > Ricard

If you collected the Cosmos reports and read them. It'll reveal that Cosmos was actually the wife of the character Cid of the Lufaine from FF1 before she became a Goddess later, and that they;ve found Garland when he was a little boy after he suffered from so many experiments conducted on him....later down the road Garland became evil during the time when Cid was creating the Manikens....and one of the Mankikens turned out to be the Warrior of Light(the hero of FF1) who was a special Maniken that managed to become his own individual persona rather than being a crystal clone like the other manikens.Since the other Manikens are made to look like FF characters from the other games and the fact that the game flat out hints that it's a prequel to FF1.that means FF1 might be the last game chronologically.

Also there is a conenction between FF2(the actual FF2 not FF4) and FF4

There is a Dragoon named Richard Highwind that helped Firion and his friends in their battle against Emperor Mateus in FF2

In FF4,it turns out that Richard Highwind was actually the father of Kain Highwind,Cecil's Best friend

This is actually pretty fun. Even though they must be different, it's cool to try and tie links together. And given how many times the worlds get destroyed, or remade, you could almost pretend that they would all be in the same world at one point or another.

The trick is tracing the technology of the worlds and seeing how one lends itself to the other.

I, II, and III are all relatively low-tech civilizations. The highest accomplishment that they have is an air ship, and even then, they can ever only seem to make one of them at a time. There's not a lot of them running around.

I would also put V here. They've started to advance with their machines so they could manipulate crystals, but still retain a great deal of the medieval ways.

In IV, Baron has mass produced airships. It also says that it is a recent discovery. It could be led to mean that they've mastered the airship, and now hold it against the rest of civilization.

It is likely that IX would appear somewhere here as well. People are getting the idea to build massive cities, and are creating great engines and machines to help support them.

XII sees industry and medieval working alongside one another on a high level. We also see the development of well established powers and politics.

Which leads us to VI, where the next logical step has been taken. One power has managed to garner a monopoly on technology, and having found a supply of magic, can use it to further its conquering goals. (It would be so wierd if Dalmasca somehow evolved into the Gesthalt Empire). And the wonderful thing with VI: once it ends, and magic is no longer a factor, people are going to have to industrialize even more.

I believe VIII would go next. They've become an advanced enough society where they can invent entire floating cities. Also note that magic must be obtained by "drawing." You can't easily use it anymore.

Then VII. Industry has reared its ugly head. Shinra now is in control over everything. Also, magic comes in the form of materia, which is, in a way, artificial. It's not like we see real mages running around anymore.

Then, possibly, XIII. The world of machines, technology, and everything else, has come to a peak. You're hard pressed to find much of the magic of before here. The world has been developed.

And then, finally, X. Yu  Yevon summons Sin, Sin takes out most of civilization, and everything that they've been building for who-knows-how-many years is taken back to ground zero. Fragments of great things still remain, but for all intents and purposes, it's a brave new world.

Interesting.

The unique interest I have in FFDissidia is that nearly all the characters are designed to look as they were originally meant to look.

Only thing I know is FFX is a prequel to FFVII. Shinra.

Nope. They are intended to be separate stories. Some have sequels/prequels though.
