Posted May 27, 201312 yr I'm just curious about what everyone thinks about motion control gaming and games that required motion controls like Skyward Sword, Sonic Free Riders, ect.
May 27, 201312 yr It's neat but I don't feel like getting up and doing hand gestures while gaming. Controllers are better and easier imo.
May 27, 201312 yr While some games have good motion control's, just give me buttons not gimmicky motion controls
May 27, 201312 yr When it's done right. It's good. I'm totally fine with the Wii Remote because I still can hold something in my hand. but I can't STAND the Kinect.....EVER.
May 27, 201312 yr I don't really have a problem with them, but I rather use a regular controller and beside Skyward Sword no games tried to do something intersting with motion control, all we do is shaking our arms to death or pointing the screen until we found what we're looking for. What I liked about Skyward Sword is that motion control felt like the only way to play the game.Playing it with a regular controller wouldn't be the same.I really hate when they force the Wiimote on game like New Super Mario Bros Wii,Super Mario Galaxy or Donkey Kong Country Returns when there's no real use to it.I even managed to found a code that allowed NSMB Wii and DKC Return to be played with the Classic Controller and its working just fine.
May 27, 201312 yr The only motion control I've actually played / got to work / enjoyed was for the original Wiimote. I haven't played with a Playstation Move, either. I can vouch, though, that I can't get a Kinect to work for the life of me, and in my opinion, that it blows.
May 27, 201312 yr Well, looking at your two examples, I've heard that Skyward Sword used them well, whereas I'm pretty sure there's only a handful of people that can get Free Riders to work right. So it really depends on how they're used.
May 27, 201312 yr Skyward Sword pulled off motion controls very well. However, I prefer controllers myself. Motion controls get even more gimmicky as time goes on, really.
May 28, 201312 yr ehh, Motion Controlling is not bad idea by any means, but the execution has always been medicore at best for me so I just rather play with controller if possible
