Posted May 29, 201312 yr So, in KHFM for the PS2 you had to press the o button instead of the x button. Will this change in HD 1.5 for our region? I don't know about the Japanese version of the game...
May 29, 201312 yr Really? Which one was the o again? It's been a while since I played a Sony console.
May 29, 201312 yr Really? Which one was the o again? It's been a while since I played a Sony console. In the NA games it's O to jump, cancel ect. and X to attack, confirm, etc. In the Final Mixs it's switched so O to attack and X to jump

May 29, 201312 yr No X needs to be Attack it is the quickest to button mash. Well if they don't change the controls between Japan and outer japan release then it'll be X for 1.5 but looking back at Japanese kh1 it's attack command was circle. Considering it's X this time then I don't think it'll change
May 29, 201312 yr If it will, it won't be in the American version. They change the registries in the games, as a part of the localization.
May 29, 201312 yr Really? Which one was the o again? It's been a while since I played a Sony console. Are you firetrucking kidding me.
May 29, 201312 yr Japanese releases are the only ones with O as the action button. So when it releases everywhere else, it'll be X.
May 29, 201312 yr In Japan, X is the symbol for 'wrong' or 'cancel' and O is the symbol for 'right' or 'confirm'. For instance, when a teacher circles a question when grading your homework, it means s/he is saying it's right or 'good job'. That is why those are switched in the Japanese games. O will always mean 'confirm' and X 'cancel' in Japan.

The playstation is a japanese machine. In west, why they changed the buttons funktion?
May 29, 201312 yr true. in project diva-this was be used, really hard was memorised:DONT PUSH X,WHEN YOU DON'T WANT CLOSE THE WINDOW. Waaa but why? The playstation is a japanese machine. In west, why they changed the buttons funktion? Because usually stuff for turning things off is a circle so we associate O with cancel. And we don't think of the X being for wrong all the time. It's subtle, but we do associate these shapes with different meanings.
May 29, 201312 yr Really? Which one was the o again? It's been a while since I played a Sony console. I'm like that with Nintendo games... I'm a touch typist though, which is the same with games, I don't know where the letters are a nintendo system, but I know the right ones to press by feeling the position...
May 29, 201312 yr KH2FM is a japanese game, so it is like that because of japanese customs(will be changed in US version). Edited May 29, 201312 yr by Rob
May 29, 201312 yr Are you firetrucking kidding me. No, I am not fireturcking kidding you. I haven't played a PS2 or PSP in a while. I do know that the X is on the bottom.
May 30, 201312 yr X is attack in 1.5's Japanese version so. "Thats not true." Sora. Cyberman65 said once in his descriptions for KH 1.5 videos that "[his] O button was starting to feel weird from all the button mashing [he] was doing with it." Its still O to attack in 1.5, because KHFM had it that way. It'll be changed in the NA version to X.

We'll know when it's released outside of Japan though.
