Rant:30 - XBOX One Privacy (You Don't Have To Buy It)

Just by the title I can see the video won't end well

Edited by Weiss

I don't have to and I won't. I hate my brother's Xbox 360 enough, so why would I want this new thing? Nah ah brah. Nice video though, I respect and get what they mean.

Yeah, I'm just not gonna buy it so there's nothing to worry about. On side note, that guy has like 50 tabs open, wtf

I'm not a fan of the Mircosoft consoles. I've never owned one, and never will.

People still think they have privacy?

Huh. Weird.

The video is a snippet of a much longer video covering news in the tech industry.

I want a Xbox 360 more than I will ever want a Xbox One, and since it's release I still don't have a 360.

I feel the same way about the PS3, but since this thread is about the x-box I guess I should make a comment on that.

Is all the data microsoft is collecting really that bad? Is it even collecting as much data as is described? It all seems like a fad among critics and these forums to get on this feature of the x-box one. I'm just going to wait until some real reviews start to hit the mainstream.

Data collection is fine, just not video records taken without your permission in your own home.

Do you really want Microsoft to be able to watch all of the things you do that you most likely wouldn't want anyone to see? Maybe it's having a bad fight with a parent or having a little fun with a special someone. You don't want video of stuff like that being sent to Microsoft now do you?

And would Microsoft really be that ignorant to peoples privacy (read: could they be that stupid)? Thats what I'm questioning. I haven't looked so thoroughly into it so I don't know. Edit: Come to think of it there is no way they could be that stupid. Taking video recordings and sending it in to Microsoft? Not only would that be an incredibly inefficient, but nobody would buy it if it really did that. It still seems to me that such criticisms are  (mostly) baseless.
