I saw a post on tumblr that made me wonder this:  Is it considered shipping if the couple has been together since the start of the series?  I don't think it is.  What about you?

Yeah... if they're already together than the ship has kind of already set sail.

Now that is allowed. For instance, Amy is already with Rory, but I totally ship Doctor/Amelia.

When characters X and Y are put together, it's a ship, regardless of whether or not it's canon.

 <- Kinda basically what shipping is. It doesn't really matter if it's canon, if you see something between character A and character B and like the idea of them together, den u ship um.
