Hey everyone, how's it going? You know, I have to wonder what happened to the Dissidia Final Fantasy series? It's been quite a while since Duodecim came out, and I'm a real big fan of the game, and I'm wondering when the next installment will come out? I mean seriously, the game has a lot of popularity, and you can barely find it in stores anymore. Is Square waiting for their chance to release a Vita Dissidia game? I'm sure that with its capabilities they can put more characters and arenas and attacks and such. Basically I've poured 500 hours into Duodecim, and I have nothing else to do in the game since my cousin's PSP doesn't work, I can't battle him anymore. When do you think the next Dissidia will be launched?

I hope they release a new Dissidia for PS3 or something, I'm not sure if they will though. Theatrhythm might be the closest thing we'll get to a third Dissidia game. I'd really love to see a new one, though. I've already decided which character's I want to see in a new one.

Nomura currently put the series on a hiatus until he finishes other projects (a.k.a VERSUS XIII),yep,Nomura is in charge of the Dissidia games

 

The only game released last year related to Dissidia is Theatrhythim Final Fantasy on the 3DS

In consideration of things, a little over 2 years isn't really that long.  I do enjoy Dissidia a lot, but I don't believe there will be a next installment..at least not for a bit.  Who knows, maybe Square does have plans for something and they'll bring it up at E3? *shrugs* If something does happen, it might not happen soon.

Dissidia was a great PSP game, and so was the second installment. I believe a year ago IGN asked if there was going to be another one, and Square said they wanted to wait until more Final Fantasy games came out so they could have more main characters playable in the game instead of supporting characters.

I know its square responsible for kh popularity but it was Disney  who stopped them from making the original dissdia(kh version)"They didn't like the idea of the characters killing each other off"
