Nintendo has just announced the next entry in the Super Smash Bros series!!

4 FE characters? Not what I was expecting, but I'll take it! I kind of prefer the weapon wielding characters personally, so the more of them there are, the better, at least in my book. Besides, Fire Emblem: Awakening was a great game, and deserves some attention in SSB. Both Lucina and Robin (as well as Captain Falcon, for that matter) look great.

 

On another note, there are now more fighters revealed for the new SSB games than there are fighters in Brawl!

Nope, it's close but no. If you count all the characters in Brawl(and i mean even the ones that can change into diff. chars., like Samus/ZS Samus, Zelda/Sheik, and Ivysaur/Squirtle/Charizard), the total in Brawl comes up to 39 playable characters. We currently have 36 in Smash 4.

Well that's good that Captain falcon got announced don't know about the fire emblem characters I thought 2 where enough but 4?4?

Well considering how successful Fire Emblem Awakening was around the world when it came out it's not surprising that they increased the number of Fire Emblem representative 

 

Besides,Fire Emblem deserves more fame and recognition especially Fire Emblem Awakening

Ok, we finally got details on Lucina and her similarities with Marth. TO clear that up, Sakurai put 3 pictures today on Miiverse:

 

 

This first image has Sakurai saying that Lucina's Physical Abilities are identical to Marth's, saying it's because of her being

a descendant of Marth in FE canon.

However, while Marth's attacks deal more damage when you hit someone with the tip of his sword, Lucina's strength is balanced throughout the entire sword, which makes her a bit easier to control than Marth. She is also a little bit shorter than him.

 

 

This second picture has Sakurai saying, and i quote: With the Wii Fit Trainers, the male and female Robins, the Villagers, and Little Mac, varying their appearances and voices works just like selecting alternate color variations. However, whenever there is even a small difference in abilities, that character gets an actual roster slot. That is why you can select Lucina individually.

 

This basically means, Male WFT, Female Robin, and Female Villager, are exactly the same as their opposite gender counterparts in terms of movesets and damage output, and are not seperate characters because of that. However, Lucina does have SLIGHT differences from Marth, which is why she is a seperate cahracter. Yes, Lucina IS A SEPERATE CHARACTER FROM MARTH, NOT A RE-SKIN OR ALTERNATE COSTUME.

 

 

Sakurai ended off with this picture, saying that Lucina has the mark of a "Naga" in her left eye(it's on the right side for people looking at the picture, it's the eye on HER left). He only mentions this because there's no way you could notice in actual gameplay.

 

So, to sum it all up, Lucina is a seperate character from Marth. The only difference between them (besides appearence) is height, and Lucina's sword does not deal more damage with the tip, and is instead balanced throughout the sword. Everything else is the same, which means she is an intentional clone of Marth.

YEEEEEEEEES! I'm definitely looking forward to playing as him. Finally, a Mage FE Character! I like the idea of him being a mix of range and close combat(When it comes to attacks), kinda like a certain 2 characters i like to play as. *Cough*stillwaitingforsakuraitoshowmotheralready*cough* But yeah, i'm looking forward to using him. I'm still interested in that "I can only use them (his tomes) so many times." Is there really a limit to his spells? THat'd be interesting...

Well i know Ness is coming back. If the 64 veteran title didn't confirm it, EB coming out on VC last year does. But Lucas is the one i'm worried about. Not to mention, alot of Mother fans are getting worried now because Sakurai's taking so long.

 

The only Franchises Sakurai hasn't shown off at this point are Mother, and Wario, and i'm pretty sure Wario's going to get in. There's only 2 months until the game comes out in Japan for 3DS, and he STILL hasn't shown them off, so it's starting to rile up the Mother fanbase. Alot of people are thinking Lucas is gonna get cut, and i really doubt Sakurai would have a Mother newcomer. : And if lucas gets cut, he'll end up not coming back like Mewtwo and Roy when Smash 5 is made. So that's the problem. Sakurai doesn't know what he's doing to the fanbase by not showing at least one Mother character at this point in development. :

However, it’s probably best to take this with a large grain of salt for now as some additional digging revealed that CoroCoro supposedly announced the full cast for Super Smash Bros. Brawl in a “Smash Bros Book” back in 2007, but later it was confirmed some hidden and unannounced characters were not included in the publication.

Whether the full character roster will be revealed in the next month is uncertain, but with the 3DS version’s release due for September in Japan (October for North America and Europe), the countdown to completion isn’t far off.

Robin's Moveset, changing swords, running out of Tome Spells, could make him interesting to customize his moves.

It's basically the forum site for most Mother fans. I've been reading up on the Smash 4 thread there, most people have already assumed that Lucas is going to get the cut and Ness is staying. :

 

And yeah, i can see your point. Well, thing is, due to how much Mother has been dicked around with when it comes to NOA in the past, i'm kind of annoyed that Lucas is probably getting the cut. It doesn't seem fair, but i understand that Mother really isn't that popular out of Japan. : That's the main reason honestly. Plus, i'll admit it, i'm a bit of a Mother fanboy too. :|

Robin's Levin Sword is only used when you use a Smash attack. Robin's Smash attacks can even be used in midair. It breaks after certain uses though at which point Robin uses the Bronze Sword. Don't worry, the Levin Sword regenerates over time.

 

Here we see Robin using Arc Fire. The tomes are all Specials and change depending on which Special you use.
