Sakurai explains why Smash Bros was given the subtitles "for Wii U and 3DS" instead of an actual subtitle

Well....while I do agree to it and got used to it by now I think a better naming could've been used

Example:The Wii U Version could've been called Smash Bros Universe

While the 3DS version is being called either Smash Bros 3D or Smash Bros Pocket(as generic as those two names sound)

the 3DS national tournament at the Nintendo World store

SO......MANY.....LITTLE MACS IN FOR GLORY

I mean wow

Yeah, i heard about that. IDK why there's so many, i know he's amazing on the ground, but he can be gimped off stage so easily. I'll stick to my Ness and Bowser thanks.

I think it's because on a Final Destination-type stage, there's really not much to be done in the air. He can easily reach you wherever you are, and it's a pain to try to fight him. I'm practicing for a local tournament (They're using For Glory rules, which is kinda boring, but I want to see what it's like to enter a tournament), and even CPU Little Macs are destroying me with ease. It's really getting frustrating. :/

Right. TBH, they're not that hard for me. I just shield constantly and punish the lag left after a smash by using tilts or grabs. Sure, there's not much to be done in the air, but you can easily waited on the edges of stages and try to grab them and attack them off. Besides, your safe from LM in the air as long as you aren't directly above him, i mean he can't follow up with Air attacks due to how much he sucks there. Also, with characters with range, you can easily hit him from afar from something like PK Thunder or Thoron. Even with someone like Shulk, it's easy to counter him with Vision due to how fast his attacks are. I mean, if he's running towards you just counter and usually he'll go for the super fast dash attack. Plus, if you use Shield when he has a KO punch and you get hit, you will not die, even if you're at 60%. Besides, Little Macs don't have many options other than usually their quick smash attacks and specials, and even then you can sometimes trick them into using Side Special and running off the map. There are alot more easier ways to kill Little Mac's than you think.

Speaking of grabs DK can destroy Little Mac if you used his grabs right when you're on the edge of the stage

Well, there's one issue... Uh... I... I suck with Shulk. ;_; There, I admitted it. I had a time when I was really good with him, but now I do pathetically bad. Most of my 1v1 matches against lv 9 CPUs end horribly. I want to be good with him, but I just can't seem to get there...

Being in a tournament is fun. But it's stressful a bit.

I think you need to be really really....really feeling it ^_^

It sounds fun, but I have no clue if I'll make it to the tournament this month because the entry fee's really high ($15, unless I can bring a TV, Wii, Brawl/Project M, and controllers, then I just get $5 off). I think I'm going to try to go to next month's if I can't get to this one, though.

I must not be feeling it enough.

Wow, i do pretty well with Shulk, i'm surprised i've surpassed you. That being said, here are some pointers: Don't use Shield unless you're at decently low damage so that you won't get launched of stage as easily, like say 50 or 60. If you get launched with Shield, which is possible, you can't recover, Shulk's speed is reduced immensely and that goes for vertical movement in the air. You will want to use Jump, its really good for nailing Aerial attacks on enemies, and spacing helps with hitting with the tip of the Monado and not having to get in too close. Buster and Shield are self explanatory, i recommend trying to use Backslash when you're decently close enough to hit an enemy with its range, even if its not from behind, just make sure you're not near a ledge. Air Slash is good for just using when in close combat in general, you just have to be quick with it. As for the counter, only use the Forward Instant Counter when the enemy is directly in front of you. If they're a few feet away, it will miss, so the normal counter is better for that. Its harder to predict it once the counter is triggered, so you'll want to keep in mind how far away they are before you counter.

Also, don't use Speed. Its only good for on the ground, and mostly for Dash attacks or if you're trying to rush in and attack, then dodge back to get away. Usually enemies can shield the faster dash attacks though, so i don't find it useful except for Smash Run when racing to the end. As for Shulk's smash attacks, you only wanted to use them when you're sure you can hit. Also, if you're a few feet away from the enemy, you may want to use them, since its extra range when the Monado's beam extends will hit them from a safe distance, even if they shield it, itll bring down their shield somewhat, which is good.

That's all the tips i have so far. I'll let you know if i can think of anything else.

Anyway, if you aren't doing so well with your own character, then you should probably go back to Ness, he's still really effective against Little Mac. I fought some friends who were using LM with him earlier, my range and quick timing was more than enough to deal with him. Especially the grabs too.

Right, thanks. If we could, I'd ask you to battle so you can see how my Shulk is. :/

Right, thanks. If we could, I'd ask you to battle so you can see how my Shulk is. :/

I'd give some pointers too, if I may. I use Shulk a whole lot as well. Shulk is a Power-type with enormous range. It might serve you useful (as it has myself) to be able to master his down and up smashes. Juggling with his neutral A can be really effective for getting a nice damage ratio on a character as Shulk. And Air Slash (even in customs) has a huge mass of range. If it means that Vision is not the answer to your close combat needs, or someone super swift (ex. Little Mac) rushes forward and tries an attack that Vision can't hit, Air Slash is your go-to move. Another thing you want to note: besides his neutral and forward A attacks, in the air Shulk is hard to handle. Of course, Down A and up A Meteor Smashes are useful in a pinch, (that damn annoying Villager at 220%) when you need to hop over an edge to get that last smash, but minus the use of Air Slash, try to keep Shulk as grounded as possible, using only short jumps. If necessary. At least, that's how I use Shulk. I respect that character, because you can't just hop on and learn his moveset. You need to have a certain level of mastery. Begin to take on 4 LV. 9 CPU's, as those I believe are easier to deal with than less. Slowly decrease the amount of characters, until you get to 1v1, and I'm sure you'll get the hang of it in no time!Good luck!

I just play Ike with Counter any time Litle Mac throws a punch. He's pretty easy to punish. I believe I won two matches online using Ike and each of those started with at least 2 KOs for me in less than 5 seconds (mostly due to the stage types).

Also I'm not sure if All-Star Hard Mode adds to the damage you deal as well, but I played with 3 Miis and failed, then used Lucina and won using her side Smash. I'm not one to pay attention to the damage output, but I got a lot of 1 hit KOs with it (like 2-3 per match) and that's a lot, even if you just excuse it with the fact that her whole blade is filled with power and not just the tip.

All Stars pretty easy for me in general, in on hard. THe damage output is definitely boosted, its way too easy to rack up damage and KO people in that, even on Hard mode.

So I was playing some 1v1 matches with the items off against LVL 9. CPUs (Training for the Tournament by the way). I lost every match except for the one where I dominated it as Shulk. I haven't even tried to learn him much. I must be a natural~
My losses were still good though, having them be close matches. In the demo, I couldn't even touch a Level 9 CPU.
I'll play Speed, Defense, and Smash Shulk though. I won't use all the Monado Arts as they're mostly unnecessary to my playstyle. Smash is even lucky it sees some use from me.

"Pic of the Day:What mode is this?"

I speculate that it's gonna be a boss battle mode or Adevnture mode

After all why tease the existence of Metal Face from Xenoblade in the game if he isn't featured somewhere?

Boss Rush. Has to be, considering we've had it previously. They may (have) even add in some crazy cool bosses from the best, like Tabu or the really annoying thing from the Halbred stage in SSE.

Adventure Mode is another nice idea though.

I think it's something to do with Event Mode?

If it's adventure, then perhaps Master X means it's an epic, and true adventure, where the enemies make sense, and on Crazy, it means more enemies will collide with series maybe.

However...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BEC8m-ckNfI&feature=youtu.be

Interesting...

Seems like it's a Boss Rush. Master Order = One order of bosses, never changes, and Crazy Order = Randomized order, more coins, perhaps?

Ticket Selection is rather strange. Not sure....

And that oh so...pixelated part at the TOP! Could this be...SMASH WORLD?!

Amiibo means selecting an amiibo (dur) and choose a build will mean 'select your amiibo set.

I'm PROBABLY RIGHT!

To a POINT!

How far is everyone with the challenges? I have two on Panel 2 and Panel 3 is mostly the Clear so and so with all fighters and the stupid street smash challenges. By the way my two other challenges on Panel 2 are Street Smash challenges. Street Smash is extremely stupid when there's literally no one around to play that with. (Most of the challenges can't be done unless you're actually using the streepass feature with other users. Like, what?

I now officially hate Wario...Man I've seen someone play several games in a row (terribly by the way) and his method: side b the entire stage until someone knocks him off and then repeat it...I mean it's easy to cancel, but it's annoying when you have 2 other players attacking you at the same time.

That scrub is giving Wario a bad name.....Wario is one of my mains and I can definitely tell you this isn't the proper way to use Wario at all

Okay after seeing so many Little Macs,I think I'd use Lucina a lot more often because of that

Ganondorf and R.O.B. were added to the Smash site. Some of these pictures made me laugh a lot. xD
