FF XV did surpass FF VII. And then all the fanboys started going crazy because they'd finally get a remake of VII, but then Square reveals that they said that just to shut the fanboys up, and that since the original team who made VII is gone, they won't remake it. What do you think would happen? I think the fanboys would get SUPER PISSED and probably tear down Square Enix for that.

Hard to believe Tetsuya Nomura was the character designer for that game, and then his career took off.

Another coincidence, Nomura was the person who made Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII. I saw his name in the opening credits, as the producer, when i played the game.

THIS. THIS is exactly what I think when people make a big deal about a remake of VII. "Its the best game ever it deserves a remake"... if its so damn good than why don't you just enjoy the original? Logically it makes no sense.

Yeah, I mean, sometimes I don't see the point of a remake.  Yeah, some things can be improved, like the graphics and the translation.  But, it already has an army of fans that already (mostly) like it for what it is.  The haters wouldn't want it to get anymore attention than it already does.  So, like, why even bother?

And what is especially stupid is... you just know that if Square broke down and made a remake, after that all the fans would do is bitch about how it's not as good as the original.

the reaction would be note worthy, i personally dont want a remake of ff7, keep it as it was meant to be its too good to go around messing with, an anime adapt version would be nicer i feel. also an orchestral version of the complete soundtrack.
