Its an english demo, comentated in Japanese and translated to French if you use the captions.

 

This demo has Lightning doing a quest, to join this gang of bandits, and meet Fang, who is the leader.

 

Looks like some of the battle tracks from XIII-2 are in this, that's cool. I loved the paradigm shift music track.

 

Also, it tunrs out there is a new command in the game called "Evade" which pretty much has Lightnign doing Dodge Roll towards the side, or doing a backflip to get away from her enemy.

 

It also looks like, you only get star rankings in boss battles, and not normal fights.

 

Not to mention, when you customize your costume and its abilities, YOU CAN CHANGE THE COLOR of any part of the outfit. Thats nice.

 

Also notice at 6:49 It says, "You did NOT earn a trophy." After he changed the color of Lightning's outfit. THAT MEANS, THERE MUST BE A TROPHY WHERE YOU CHANGE THE COLOR OF LIGHTNING'S OUTFIT AT LEAST ONCE.

 

Same is at 7:59, it says "You didn't earn a trophy". I think it might be because Lightning COMPLETELY Blocked the attacked, and took NO DAMAGE. Same goes for later in the fight, when she completely blocks the attack again, and it says again "You didn't earn a trophy."

 

And as shown at 12:07, YOU LEVEL UP BY DOING QUESTS, NOT BY GETTING SOME FORM OF EXPERIENCE POINTS. So you better do all those quests in the game.

jesus bloody christ this game is amazing, i dont understand all the hate its getting, the game is so close to what a final fantasy game should be and it is completely non linear with vibrant interactive enviornments, if this isnt one of 2014 greatest games i'll throw down my hat in shame of our fanbase.

well where i was coming from was the final fantasy fanbases inability to be open minded in general, it seems anyone who likes 13 is looked down on or called a noob to the series while in fact they are the fans who have the series' true purpose at heart, change

Looks pretty good. I see that it has a lot more in common with XIII-2 than XIII, which is ok, I just hope they fix some of the problems I had with that game.

Oh and Evade was actually an abillity in the first game that Lightning and Hope had as Sentinels.

Oh yeah, i remember that now. But that was different. It was a guard move, and SOMEITMES it let your character dodge attacks, but you couldn't dodge freely at will. Now you can dodge freely at will.

 

It makes sense it has more in common with XIII-2, since XIII-2 was better then XIII in terms of how they adjusted the gameplay and everything.

That looks awesome. I'm really pumped for this game, even thought I haven't even beaten the first XIII yet. But at least I have the rest of it, along with XIII-2 (and also KHHD) to play in the mean time!

well, square have taken in the requests of the fans, and theyve evidently fixed even more stuff about the 13 games, this looks like a perfected version of the combat and gameplay that has been developing in this series so far.

 

i think square are the kind of company who get better and better with each game as opposed to the other way around because unlike most companies they pay attention to fans and mistakes they make and fix them as its seen fit. but i guess well see, it'll be different for everyone and 13-2 was fantastic

oh definetly, caius was an epic antagonist and character, one of the best, but it seems this game doesnt have a defined villain, who the villain is seems to depend on your perspective. is it lightning or the people we care about fighting against her, or maybe some other force. personally quite exited i love that

IDK I mean, THERE HAS TO BE A FINAL BOSS, THIS IS AN RPG, A FINAL FANTASY GAME. There has to be one big bad villain in the end. My guess, is ITS CAIUS. He's the guy who caused this in the first place, and he's still around, im pretty sure Lightning will end up fighting him in the end.

from what the trailers showed there was a dessert place and some sort of renaissance looking city thats not what i liked about 13 i liked scenery like oreba and the futuristic city of cocoon this game just doesnt look as nice but thats just me ill probably love it when it comes out i wasnt crazy about how 13-2 sounded before it came out but it proved me wrong as well

IDK, i don't think itll be like that. All Lightning's job is, is to bring souls to the new world, so she is, and probably, someo ther perso n is gonna try to kill for that, and be  the final boss.

 

Im sure its either Caius, or some new person/deity they will introduce in this game.
