Hate to say this, but I'm actually excited for Lightning Returns

Posted

From what i've seen from the trailers the game looks great and the gameplay doesn't look like crap like in XIII and XIII-2. Though with this excitement I'm thinking of maybe buying XIII-2 just to get hyped (even though i still kinda hate the game). I mean sure you only have two party members but it's still better than the first FF XIII and has some good side quests. Though maybe I hould just hold off on getting it in case Square decides to make a FF XIII collection where you get all 3 games. Plus that way i won't have buy that Lightning DLC just to see what happens next.

I think that the XIII games are excellent, and Lightning Returns will be no exception. :3

Well, in terms of story the XIII games are excellent. The only thing that' putting me off buying XIII and XIII-2 is the gameplay. In the first FF XIII you had to go on a linear path and watch cutscenes every five minutes and couldn't even go back to level grind. In XIII-2 the gameplay doesn't look that much improved to me but i do like how it's a bit more open world and there are side quests. Which is why i might actually buy XIII-2 at some point before Lightning Returns comes out. Though like i said before, i think I'll wait incase SE screws me over and pulls out a FF XIII collection with all 3 FF XIII games with all the DLC in it.

It would make sense for Nomura to release a collection of the XIII games, kind of like Ezio's trilogy set of Assassin's Creed. :)

Yeah, I still have yet to get that since I haven't played AC: Brotherhood and Revelations xD.

Why would you want to? Pulse is where the real enemies/experience lies anyway. Until then there's no point in staying in one area

YEAH, LR IS DRAWING IN HATERS OF THE PREVIOUS GAME. Maybe this game will show that XIII is a great FF game series after all. It looks like a collection wont be released until February when LR FF XIII comes out.

I think you should just get XIII-2 now. Its 20 bucks. And the DLC is only like 5 bucks. Its really fun though.

Way to judge a game before trying it

I agree with you on XIII but How did you judge that XIII-2 is crap before you even try the demo

It's like saying Sonic Generations sucks(which isn't because Generations is good) before you even play the demo

Well, i did play the demo of XIII-2 when it came out on PSN but I ended up hating it since the gameplay didn't appeal to me that much. Though I did love the side quests and how it was much more open world then the first FF XIII game was. But I might give it another chance if I buy XIII-2

Same here,I'm a bit excited for Lightning Return even though I didn't like XIII and XIII-2,but instead of buy the games to catch up with the story I'll just watch the cutscenes on Youtube, there's no way I'm buy those games and its dlc ending.

I expect it to be better than 13-2.

Nothing to be ashamed of :) I'm excited too. I'm gonna fix my PS3 for this game and KH 1.5 HD ReMIX.
