Their just speaking for what they believe in and they get attacked. I understand disagreement, and that there are ways to handle it, but I don't think attacking someone you don't agree with is completely logical...

the media outlet reporting this is fox news

how suspiciously questionable

i agree with this (also i'm not attacking you, just adding on to your post)

but

at the same time, going to a lgbt pride parade and preaching about how homosexuality is a sin?

what did they expect to happen if they were going there?

that's just as illogical.

Exactly. Though I thought it was a dumb move for the 2 to attack the preachers, its even dumber for the preachers to expect them to be safe while prancing around a gay parade saying its a sin.

They made the gays seem like the devils here though and the people in the comments are being so stupid too.

Then again, it is Fox.

Rule number one when reading a controversial issue in the news, never read the comments. More than likely, there will be ignorant and bigoted people making their voices known.

but they are so intimidating and stupid

This is still ridiculous.

They had the right be there and to protest. The attackers had no right to beat them for it.

Freedom of Speech.

Doesn't matter if it was a Gay pride parade. They have every right to preach their beliefs during then as the LGBT community has to say religion is wrong during Passover, or Qwanza (screw spelling...).

While I agree it was not the best place to, in the current times, they were never in the wrong and it's the LGBT supporters who beat them that are in the complete and utter wrong.

Doesn't matter how despicable the things the preachers were saying were. They weren't making threats or raising false alarm. It wasn't too direct or aggressive to qualify as hate speech either. On these grounds, their first amendment rights are to be upheld.

And even if they did any of the things I mentioned, it's up to the authorities to deliver justice appropriately, not an angered mob. Vigilantism is also illegal.

If any movement wants to gain ground in America, they have to be peaceful. Gay rights gained a lot of sympathy from unfortunate gay rights activist getting physically harmed. Harming anti-gay rights people are going to reverse the situation.

Well, I Couldn't Really Find Any Liberal Media Covering It, So I Thought I Might As Well Post Fox. I Can Post Links To Other Articles On It If You Wish. I Didn't Wanna Post The Actual Video Because Of The Intense Profanity And Violence.

And this is one of the reasons why I would never go to America..

''freedom of speech'', seriously? People shouldn't pull this kind of idiocy. Maybe they didn't deserve to get beat up, but they definitely deserve to get thrown out of there.

How people think this is alright because of freedom of speech is absurd :|

While I understand they were being non violent and I don't agree with the attackers actions, a LGBT pride parade is supposed to be a safe space for the community and the preachers were intruding in on that. Free speech doesn't and shouldn't exempt discriminate actions.

It shoulsnt and does not. But we don't know what they were preaching; immediately saying they were preaching how homosexuality is a sin is stereotypical and conjecture.

Okay but you guys realize that the exact opposite firetrucking happens ALL THE TIME. Queer people are brutally beaten all the time, by family, by strangers, by religious fanatics.

I'm not condoning this action at all, it's wrong and no one should hurt ANYONE.

But the fact still stands that the queer community suffers from a lot of violence and violent hate crimes and a LGBT* Pride Parade is their SAFE ZONE.

They do not want to be reminded or even want to deal with the people that constantly give other reasons to harass and attack them. They're going to be angry when people who are telling them they're going to Hell invade their safe zone.

You'd be mad too if a devil worshipper went into a church and spoke of the devil. Heavens know some Christians would be firetrucking furious and want to beat the shit out of them,

Just as the church is a haven for people who follow religion, these parades are a sort of haven for the queer community and NEITHER should be invaded by people who are there to make them uncomfortable and unsafe.

You can't expect peace from a movement when people of that movement are constantly harassed and attacked and fear being harassed and attacked. That treatment doesn't breed the want of peace within people, that makes people afraid and ready to defend themselves. Don't expect peace when a community has thousands of people killed simply for being queer. You can't expect peace from people who live in fear and abuse.

But whatever. I can't wait for people to make this into such a big deal but completely ignore the hundreds of queer people that are homeless, beaten, harassed, and killed on a daily basis.

The LGBT community has suffered many attacks that have been much worse, but in no way does that justify LGBT supporters attacking someone who opposes the LGBT community. However, the preachers could have provoked the attack and from the video this attack does not seem "brutal" at all. That does not mean that attack was okay, but it was hardly brutal in any way.
