Is Caius Ballad the 2nd most strongest rival after Sephiroth maybe?

Who says Sephiroth is even the first strongest?

Given how he is the most popular villain in the franchise and because of his strength, I would think that.

Just cause he's most popular doesn't mean he's the strongest. :P

Come on, I've seen Sephiroth multiple times fight and of how he is completely different to other FF villains but literally back to the topic at hand, would you say Caius is 2nd to him?

Well since I don't think Sephiroth is first why would I think Caius is second to him? :P

Actually,Caius is much more stronger than Sephiroth for many reasons:

1He's immortal and lived for centuries thanks to Etro's Heart

2He constantly heal himself in Battle without using a healing spell

3He can transform into Bahamut any time he wants

4He actually SUCCEEDED IN HIS GOAL TO DESTROY TIME AND HISTORY....Other than Kefka and Caius I can't think of any FF villian that actually managed to succeed in destroying the world (Exdeath was so close...but he couldn't).

5His transformation:Jet Bahamut,at the end of the game...has a one-hit kill attack, yeah you can barely avoid dying by using Sentinel but still.

6Caius and Yeul's relationship(Which is more like a FatherDaughter to me)..while the goal was questionable,at least it makes much more sense than Sephiroth and Jenova

Sephiroth:Mother,I'm gonna destroy the world for you, even though I don't know shit about you and I didn't bother to research more and find that my real mother WAS LUCRECIA......

Very true, popularity and strength are too totally different things

THANK YOU for poiting that out Metal Snake. Caius is probably stronger honestly.

I think it was already comfirm by some guys at Square that Caius is the strongest villain of any Final Fantasy.I tried to find the link where I read that, but couldn't find it anywhere.

You can find the link in the Final Fantasy Wiki.

Anyway,it's been already confirmed in an old interview few months before XIII-2 was released

Actually Emperor from FF 2 managed to conquer earth and even hell and heaven so I think that he is quite strong..

The Emperor is strong and I like him a lot(probably my 2nd favorite FF villain) ,but I don't think he's the strongest. You don't need a lot of power to conquer and the Emperor used an army to conquer everything and when you fight him for the first time in FFII he used backups to defend himself.Even in Dissidia he relies on others to work for him.

Straight up fighting power isn't all that matters. If you are good strategist and can use others to your favor, you can beat some stronger enemies.

Also Emperor is quite powerful with his power of hell in end of FF2. Also in order to use army you need power to keep it in charge
