Looks like Nintendo closed down the comments and even disabled the ratings.

Yup, definitely looking like the next Micro. They better hope the price difference nets them profit.

Maybe because people were overdoing it and swearing up storms on a Youtube channel for a gaming company that is visited by children as well as adults? They have to keep that age range up.

True. Too bad some are still at it on the latest video they uploaded. What I find funny is that rating has no effects towards children, but I guess they were lazy and checked both boxes. Makes sense as I think the Planes trailer got a similar treatment and I believe Nintendo ignored that one. lol

Rating boxes? Wait, what?  Never heard of those... ._. Also, Nintendo might not notice it with some of their more minor videos, but a new hardware release getting a ton of crap is something they'll notice more easily. That could be why they didn't do anything for the Planes trailer.

I meant a check box, where you can check off to disable comments, ratings, etc. Yeah, it's probably that.

Ooh, right. That's possible.

Nah, they created this system because they want to make money, and there's no better way to do that than to release a model of the 3DS for a cheap price, done by removing the 3D component which is one of the more expensive features to incorporate.

It's obvious the real reason they did it is for money, but in terms of marketing they're saying it's to enable 3D games without the 3D effect, which can already be done using the slider and parental controls

Which they also marketed and warned parents about. Nintendo explained the slider and parental controls, so I dun see why they are even marketing the 2DS this way. :/

The majority of parents, are dumb.  The whole "you don't blame a ATM if your kid steals your card and withdraws a load of money.  Be a parent and set parental controls"  thing needs to be literally shoved in their faces.  I doubt the majority of them (who complain about it) could even tell you how to access the settings on the consoles.

I totally thought this was in the random section.

I like who they are catering to people like me who can't see 3D, but they really didn't need to do this - there is a 2D mode on the 3DS.
