Do you think that Vanitas can ever be truly defeated by someone in the Kingdom Hearts series?

Featured Replies

Considering he was defeated every time he tried...Yes. He's sort of a fails.

don't kill me Sox

He have been defeated more then once already

I would assume so since he was beaten by Ventus in the Station of Awakening (I think that's where their battle took place). But who knows? Maybe through some KH logic, he's still out there somewhere.

Given that Vanitas fails at nearly everything he puts his hands to, and on multiple occasions, then I'm going to have to say yes. Yes he can be defeated. And quite often.

I really don't understand why people give Vanitas more credit than he's actually due. I will still argue that Pete is a superior minion.

Couldn't agree more . He and Xehanort get way too much credit- more than they deserve- bc people build them up to be much more then they really are .

So do the BBS trio in general, when you think about it Xehanort didn't even have to try to get them in his clutches.

Terra to put it simply was an idiot, he could obviously see that people like Malificent, Hades and Xehanort were all evil but yet he sticks with them even thought anyone could of guessed what they were doing was bad.

Aqua was just irresponsible, she found Ven and told him to go back home and he said no and she just... lets him go? I mean really she could of used force if she cared about him that much, heck Axel did to Xion in Days, if Ven stayed put at TLOD then the whole deal with Terra 'killing' Eraqus would of never took place.

And Ven should of just listened to the people around him, he should of stayed put but after his little escapade he still travelled to make friends even though he knew how dangerous it was.

It's fine for the bad guy to win but atleast make the heroes a formidable trio for him to face, he really didn't have to try at all to win.

BBS is still a great game, you just have to question the motives of some of the characters and the villians. Vanitas got his ass kicked several times and Xehanort hardly had to try at all.

If Vanitas was in KH3D then Sora would be a challenge for him.

There was definitely a lot of stupidity going around in the game no doubt . But Xehanort still fails in every incarnation he has - that's why he needs so many back up plans. Even when he had minor success- like getting Terra's body- he didn't anticipate Terra's heart fighting for control and the struggle to keep the body. Everything else just fails bc of things he didn't anticipate . I do have to say though that people are a little harsh on Terra bc you have to remember, WE see these people are villains from the start and know they are up to no good but in Terra's viewpoint just meeting them he doesn't . When he starts to see that they are up to no good , he DOES realize it and stops trying to help them .When it comes to Xehanort- he was suppose to be a trusted close friend of his Master Eraqus- so of course he trusted him . He had no reason NOT to yet . If anyone should've known better it was Eraqus, bc he knew what Xehanort was capable of . He knew that even up to recent events he was still trying to make the Xblade- even almost killing Ven in the process. Yet Eraqus thought nothing of all this when dealing with MX. I think Eraqus' stupidity was the domino that fell that could've been a major factor in preventing everything if he had thought of this shit. But alas, this story HAD to happen bc it was made to explain what lead to later events and whatnot.  The characters had to fail in order for the story to end like it would later . It just didn't have to make the characters be so stupid . That said, I still loved BBS and it's one of my favorite in the series .I just recognize the flaws in it .

Yeah I see what you mean about Eraqus.. Wasn't there a flashback to how he got his scar when Xehanort used Darkness, why would he invite that guy with a group of children essentially? But yeah BBS is a great  game with the best game play in the series IMO

Yeah Xehanort gave him the scar in the past and eraqus forgave him - but he shouldn't have 'forgotten'. If you know what I mean . Especially when he kept trying to forge the Xblade .You would think that would at least make him more 'suspect'

Due to plot reasons, he had to be beaten. lol

What do you expect? Bad guys are destined to fail & as Xehanort said himself "Destiny is never left to chance."

Ventus beated him
