The wind blew softly over the island. Besides the soft swaying of the trees there was little to disturb the idyllic serenity here. The island stretched out for miles, but at the coasts there was nothing to see but water. The island, like the universe in which it existed, was nearly empty, the remnants of life clung, decaying, to its shores and its trees and its fields, but the yells of excitement, of fear, of courage that has once complimented the sound of the wind ha since faded to echoes. Today, however, that changed. Today life returned to the universe. The only question is; what kind of universe would it return to?

"C'mon, get up!"

"All of you, wake up."

"Rise and shine, it's a new day."

Far away voices entered the hazy minds of those sleeping on the island.

Lying on the shore of a short beach was Seraphim Valentine, Derik Absolon, and Samantha Allison, and Rodin Seefull. The wind blew over them as they lay sprawled over the sand in close proximity to each other. Just as they had been placed. Next to the beach was a mix of jungle and swamp that went deeper into the mainland. Besides that the beach was mostly barren. A wrecked fishing boat was rusted and decaying within walking distance, but nothing more. The waves lapped up on the shore softly...

Lying in the middle of an airstrip surrounded by jungle was a different group. Rusted machine parts lay strewn about, and any sign of activity at the airstrip had long since faded. On the ground in the middle of the airstrip lay Alex Dimanche, Ferro al'Vere, and Hazimie Azhar Two desolate bunkers flanked the airstrip they were on, with a control tower at the end of the strip. Forest flanked the airstrip on all sides, with a single winding road leading out. The wind cut through the trees and sliced past the bunkers onto the airstrip. Only the wind and the trees provided any sound to the desolate military installation...

Deep in the jungle was a pair of rusted jeeps parked next to a crumbling house. The jeeps were long past functioning, and their engines were removed recently as well. The house sat surrounded by the trees with a single road leading somewhere further into the jungle. Inside the house were the four people; Rija Mors, Terry Frost, Henko Tenioenai, Koizumi Onnea, and Rin Nozomi Part of the roof of the house had caved in, and most of the belongings and furniture were gone. Remaining in the house were a few pots and pans, and single picture in an immaculate frame on a table in the room where the four people were laying. Silence pervaded the house...

The far away voices slowly awakened all of these people. The clouds in the blue skies above moved slowly; the morning was upon them. It was time to wake up and find the future...

Terry stared at the flashing light on his wrist.

"There's gotta be a malfunction." He said earnestly. "All this tech is old enough to have bugs. I'm not an SA. I'm a security consultant. I spent 8 years in the military. You can't tell me that was just made up."

He looked up to see Rija's weapons pointing at her, disbelief in his eyes.

"You can't possibly..." He started but stopped.

They were all in a position none of them understood. Everything was foreign and everything was questioned.

Terry held his plasma rifle away out, his hand away from the handle and trigger. He placed it carefully on the ground.

"I don't know what's going on, Rija, but I'm telling you, I'm human." He said, speaking in a pleading voice with his arms out to his sides, palms up. "Give me a minute and I'll prove it."

Seraphim noticed she had a message as she tried to free herself but saved it to her firewalled inbox before using the codes provided by Elly to hack into the system.

Releasing herself mere feet from the compactor, Sera thought she broke something. At least it hurt.

Through the pain, she sat up. "Elly. When this is over, I want a beach resort mansion, endless food, and the entire Swimsuit Edition of every magazine with hot chicks in it."

She then settled back to read her message, barely able to move.

"I swear. If its a conspiracy and all three are the bad guys, I'm quiting life." She muttered so low no one should quite honestly hear her. "Rodin? You alive?"

Rodin laid on the ground and said:  "Yes I'm alive.  Nearly got burnt to death, but still alive the same.  I would've asked the same thing if you didn't say anything.  But are you okay?  Are you injured in any way?"

Henko rested his hands behind his head. "I don't know you very well, Terry." He said. "So I could probably kill you on the spot, but Rija seems to care, and since I don't, you two can go at it. I'm just gonna get going on the Genisis-thingy." He turned and began walking away. "You coming, Rin." He was only half aware that he was locked in. He could blast through the door. Most likely.

"Wind knocked out of me." She admitted. "Bruised. But mostly ok."

Sera grimaced. "Two or all three SAs are the bad guys." She muttered quietly to herself. Standing, Sera drew her sniperscythe.

"Let's get to the Primary Lab or whatever."

"No need" Veridyan's voice came through. "I'm running a diagnostics check on your biology right now. I'll admit, this is impressive, it is almost entirely sustained organic tissue, but it can't mask the fact that your brain holds no human neurons. The electrical signals in your mind are actually that of stored data in constant interaction with itself. It's mimicking a human brain in it's activity, as we do. You're definitely an SA."

There was a pause.

"But it doesn't make any sense. Why would you knowingly get into the suit I supplied you knowing I had the diagnostics to find you out? Did you think that you woul-" He suddenly stopped. "I can't believe it. Your memory. You don't have SA-type memory. Your memory banks are purposefully fluctuating, replicating human memory. And you... you don't actually hold any memory of being an SA. Somehow... someone wanted you to blend in so well with the group of humans that they somehow wiped your memory of any SA knowledge and replaced it with human. You truly... truly think you're a human being."

The alarm continued to sound.

"Well, you're not the immediate threat then," Veridyan continued, "If you didn't know you were an SA then your purpose may have been hardwired into your personality more than your memory. I don't know why a rebel SA was placed into an artificial body and put along with cryogenically frozen humans, but it happened for a reason. There ain't no point in asking you anything, or blaming you, because you wouldn't know I guess, but all of the rest of you have to keep an eye on him. He'll be able to infiltrate computer systems manually if he transfers certain data packets to them, giving him a sort of cyber-weapon if he chooses to use it. Still, Terry, you don't look evil to me, and we need all the help we can get."

The doors still sat closed and locked on both sides of the room.

"So, let's get to busting those doors open before the room's self-destruct system kicks in. Dog-boy, wanna things started?" Veridyan asked expectantly.

"Okay then, only a bit further" Elaryse's voice, "The door over there should lead through the quick section of the armory shipping department then you'll be at the entrance to the Primary Lab."

The door on one of the far walls then opened, showing rows upon rows of different devices and various pieces of weaponry lining the walls, it was like an extended hallway, and another door lay on it's far side.

"Head through," Elaryse said "and meet all the various monstrosities I got the horror to witness in my time. Shipped out to different solar systems, used to wipe planets off the face of the galaxy, spreading immeasurable pain and suffering because people didn't agree with my creators. This place was one of the primary research labs for the UHC's was effort during the civil war, and the scars still show."

"You needn't slow yourself down," Rytt spoke from their wrist consoles. "I can simply configure the options in a moment if you wish, you'll just have to interface with the system and I do the rest. The chemicals are effective, you'll be able to select either lethal or non-lethal options if you choose to use them. The UHC war scientists were... comprehensive. They came up with quite a few options for killing other humans. I am not suggesting you necessarily use them, but they are an option..."

It was either use the chemicals or risk coming into contact with the groups very very soon....

"I say that if we do slow them down, go non-lethal. Try to save as many humans as possible." Derik noted. "Even with Genisys, we can't remake people exactly the way they are."

(We can flood the place with chemicals! More Portal!)

Ferro, still carrying Derik, jogged through the hallway and into the chemical lab. After setting him down on a clear patch of floor, Ferro approached the console. Repay kindness with nothing, or repay kindness with injury. Not very nice options, but there had to be a better one. "What do you think, guys?" he said to Derik and Alex.

"What do you think, guys?" he said to Derik and Alex.

"You know what I think." Derik said, using his limited range of movement to look around.

"One of the other groups helped us out. If we really need to do this, don't kill anyone. Whoever it is that helped us -even though one could argue this itself is wrong-, should at least deserve to live. The logic is flawed, yes, but I honestly prefer to just keep running. Talking about this is slowing us down, and letting our opponents get the upper hand and get to the Genesys machine quicker."

"Let's ditch it, then." Ferro scooped up Derik again and proceeded through the room to the other side, careful not to go too near any chemical spills. Reaching the door on the far side, Ferro opened it. He hoped the next room had the antidote for Derik, but he could survive for a good amount of time still. Past the door was. . .

"Right." Rodin says without thought and doubt.  He walks to the door on the far side.  He gazes at all the machinery and weapons here, thinking:  Huh.  So all of this stuff caused a lot of misery.

Sera was just behind Rodin.

"So. This was part of the UHC? Then..."

Sera brushed past Rodin, and began to sprint. "Then tell me. Why are you here?" She asked the emptyness, continuing to run, looking between her arm-computer and where she was going.

"Don't need to ask me twice!" Henko replied excitedly. Heavy Brutality made itself know and the omnipolar boy hit the metal barrier with all the hydraulic force he could muster. Barely even a dent. He hesitated before drawing his metal fist back. "Owowowowow." He took a deep breath. "You wanna heat that up, Rin?

Rija listened to Veridyan's explanation. Slowly, she lowered her weapons. She was thankful she didn't have to use them. "Okay then. Robo, just try not to turn evil and kill us all, alright?" Rija then walked over to the door, and addressed Henko directly. "No need, I can handle this obstacle well enough." Rija switched her saber on, and stabbed it into the door, cutting through it like butter. She carefully carved a door into the metal, then kicked it into the next room. "Let's go now, we don't have much time." Rija called back to the group.

"Oh..." Henko said. "That works too, I guess." He smiled sheepishly and scratched the back of his head. "Shall we get moving then?" He asked. "Come on, Rin." He followed Rija through the makeshift door.

(WHY IS IT EVERYTIME I TRY TO POST I CAN'T BECAUSE EVERYONE KICKS ME OFF BUT FINALLY I HAVE TIME O_O )

Rin had been normally quiet most of the time, stepping beside Henko.

"Let's go..." she muttered.

"Sorry Henko for being oblivious sometimes..." Rin said rather quietly, but only loud enough for Henko to hear.

Terry stared at his hand a moment. How could he be an SA? He had memories...but they weren't that in depth, were they? Just...background info.

He looked up as Rija called to move out. He narrowed his eyes as he considered his options.

"Wait up." He called Ashe leaned down and picked up his rifle. "Let me take point. I might have better survivability and at least you won't have to keep an eye over your back."

He hustled up to the front of the group.

"Very well then, let's hurry along." Rytt said.

The group only had a bit to go past the chemical lab before they reached it. It was a room of all white, with two huge glass windows on either side. The door from the chemicals lab they had come from stood opposite two double automatic doors. There was one more door on the wall with the chemical lab door, directly to the left of where the group had come in.

"Welcome to the executive entrance. Beyond that door is the Primary Lab. That's where Genesys is."

Then the door to their left opened up suddenly-

Terry took position at the front of the group as they all stepped out of the military command room. The hallway from there wasn't very long, leading to one more door. Through that the group found themselves in a great white room, with two huge windows on the left and right walls, and two double automatic door in front of them.

As Seraphim and Rodin walked through the armor section, unbeknownst to them, the light vibrations of their footsteps unsettled the decade-old weaponry. It took but a single step for one of the devices to fall from it's shelf....

The force of the explosion rocketed them forward, and it caused a chain reaction. Explosives, chemical gasses, incendiary devices, all going off in a domino effect. The door was ahead of them over a dozen meters away, with  malfunctioning weaponry every step of the way. That was their ticket out, and they needed to get out fast, the entire armory began to self destruct as the weapons activated around them.

("...God damn, Veritas..." Crona thought, the new addition to the passage annoyed him as he looked at Derik, obviously annoyed.

"What? I don't own him! I can't do nothing, either!" Derik said to Crona as they brainstormed ideas about what the RP version of Derik would do, even though he's paralyzed.

"I got it!" Crona yells out, finally having an idea of what to post.)

"Ferro... There are others here, are there not? I can't see them, but I can feel they're presences. We could use some of the toxin on my person to paralyze one of them and take them for leverage against them, then get the meds and heal me, then portal them out of the area when they least expect it." Derik whispers to Ferro, trying his hardest to see which group it was they were facing.

Rodin shouts:  "Really?!  A few steps in and stuff blows up?!  Yaaaah!"  Rodin dashes to the door as fast as he can, evading all the weapons he could.

As Terry took point, Rija let him, until they reached the next room. Three other people. Unlike Terry, Rija knew that these three were enemies. Her combat instinct and battle strategy came to mind. She analyzed the field, and didn't see anything of too much interest. She thought about the capabilities of her squad. A plan came to mind. "Rin! Henko! Go and find the Genesys machine as fast as you can! Veridyan, try and guide them. Terry, help me out. I think we can take these three by ourselves, it would also be nice if you used any robot powers you have stored in there." Rija called out to her team. Whether or not they responded as she asked would be up to them.

A quick scan of the room showed there were four people on one side. The door to the Genesys machine was off to the other side. Ferro quickly set Derik on the ground and stepped in front of him. "I doubt whatever contamination you have is catching. Otherwise, I would be incapacitated just like you." Ferro prepped an escape portal in case he needed a quick getaway. "Alex, see if you can find any antidote for Derik. I'll handle these guys." Ferro called out to the other group: "Why do you feel you have to fight us? Can't we talk first?"

Alex nodded and opened up the file Rytt had sent him.

"I have the formula for the poison here. With luck, I can find various proteins that could dissolve the poison, and try and match it with the catalog of chemicals here." Alex began looking at all the data on the substance, frowning as his brow knit together. "Rytt, can you pull up all the chemicals in the plant? I think i might be able to find the right antidote."
