The wind blew softly over the island. Besides the soft swaying of the trees there was little to disturb the idyllic serenity here. The island stretched out for miles, but at the coasts there was nothing to see but water. The island, like the universe in which it existed, was nearly empty, the remnants of life clung, decaying, to its shores and its trees and its fields, but the yells of excitement, of fear, of courage that has once complimented the sound of the wind ha since faded to echoes. Today, however, that changed. Today life returned to the universe. The only question is; what kind of universe would it return to?

 

"C'mon, get up!"

"All of you, wake up."

"Rise and shine, it's a new day."

 

Far away voices entered the hazy minds of those sleeping on the island.

 

Lying on the shore of a short beach was Seraphim Valentine, Derik Absolon, and Samantha Allison, and Rodin Seefull. The wind blew over them as they lay sprawled over the sand in close proximity to each other. Just as they had been placed. Next to the beach was a mix of jungle and swamp that went deeper into the mainland. Besides that the beach was mostly barren. A wrecked fishing boat was rusted and decaying within walking distance, but nothing more. The waves lapped up on the shore softly...

 

Lying in the middle of an airstrip surrounded by jungle was a different group. Rusted machine parts lay strewn about, and any sign of activity at the airstrip had long since faded. On the ground in the middle of the airstrip lay Alex Dimanche, Ferro al'Vere, and Hazimie Azhar.  Two desolate bunkers flanked the airstrip they were on, with a control tower at the end of the strip. Forest flanked the airstrip on all sides, with a single winding road leading out. The wind cut through the trees and sliced past the bunkers onto the airstrip. Only the wind and the trees provided any sound to the desolate military installation...

 

Deep in the jungle was a pair of rusted jeeps parked next to a crumbling house. The jeeps were long past functioning, and their engines were removed recently as well. The house sat surrounded by the trees with a single road leading somewhere further into the jungle. Inside the house were the four people; Rija Mors, Terry Frost, Henko Tenioenai, Koizumi Onnea, and Rin Nozomi Part of the roof of the house had caved in, and most of the belongings and furniture were gone. Remaining in the house were a few pots and pans, and single picture in an immaculate frame on a table in the room where the four people were laying. Silence pervaded the house...

 

The far away voices slowly awakened all of these people. The clouds in the blue skies above moved slowly; the morning was upon them. It was time to wake up and find the future...

Most of what Derik had just said had gone in one year and out the other. Not that Henko lacked the thought capacity to comprehend, he was just sick of the bastard. He activated Grace and held against the paralyzed man's forehead. "I've had about enough of you." He growled. "All you've been so far is a pain. Criticizing everyone when you can't do a sorry thing for yourself let alone humanity. Your buddies have 10 seconds before I make things easier on everyone else here."

*imagine a large ammount of heavy metal being used to flip someone, and in the process, kick someone in the face with the propelled someone's legs. In lamens terms, kicked REAAAAAALY hard.

True to the original prototype, it had an adverse affect on living matter. Henko's entire head was instantly transported to another dimension, killing him instantly. Ferro got up from the headless body, fired a shot to envelop Seraphim's suit, and lifted her gently onto the table. "Now you have an incentive not to fight me." he said to everyone in the room.

"We may be attacked by other members out of gief, prepare, just in case." Derik"s leg was killing him, all the other muscles were not liking the rapid movement that the only small number of muscles that were still working forcing them to. "But I can't keep doing this for long..." He thought. "Alex, hurry with antidote."

Sera yelped as she was set down on the table. "Thank you..." she looked pretty afraid though. "Uh. I'm goi g to not touch my sniper scythe. At all." She slightly shivered in unchecked fear, carefully sitting up. Sera was terrified of the D-Appendage user ven more now.

She looked around. "C...can we...just gather around and talk now? And if anyone is a medic, some help?"

Eh... The fact that he is a bit of a supergenius would have hurt the team more with his death than someone who's as trigger happy as Henko, though... I would argue his point, but it IS a survival-horror-sifi RP, it's not safe to kill the smart ones, things would go down even quicker like that... Also... After that controversy would erupt anyway. I was just hoping to KO Henko, though, not blast his freakin' head out into space!

"I'm a bit of an amateur doctor, and yeah, your leg looks like it's sprained. Ferro, disarm the body, then take some of the metal plates and bond them together with the hammer in my pocket to the length of her lower leg, then make another, place one on either side and finally make two curved cuffs to the size of her ankle's with, make it  to the point where it meets her skin, make two of them,then bond one of them to the metal. After that, place the curve down and to the back of her ankle and place it on, then bond the second curve onto it, then place a flat plate from the gloves on the top of the device, then another on the back, that should help it like a splint. Make sure to make the bond tight." He looked over to Sepherhan(I can't remember the spelling )"Use your scythe as a cane, keep the pressure off of that foot whenever you have the opportunity so that the splint had the opportunity to set the bones, ligaments, nerves, et cetera correctly, and keep calm. The process of putting this splint on will hurt a little, but it's worth it."

They were just like the ones they used in crafting the D-ppendage, although Ferro was more of a tester than a builder. But hey, it had been a small group, and they had all done some of everything. Ferro used the saw to cut a strip of metal off the table, then bonded it to the side of Seraphim's leg armor after straightening it. "When the sprain heals, we can simply cut the strip in half to free up your leg." Ferro returned the tools to Derik's pocket.

What she really wanted to do was snipe Ferro and Derik with her pistol, and see how they felt, but she held herself back. Rija walked forward, back towards Ferro, Derik, and Sera. She examined the splint that had just been done, and felt it was good work. Rija was still looking out for Seraphim after all. She turned towards Ferro and Derik. Rija took a breath, and began to speak in a clear calm tone to them.

 

"While I feel that your killing of my comrade was unneeded, I can move past that. However, I wish, and we all wish, to stay alive, and to restart the human race. I am most definitely willing to work with you for that conclusion. What I demand on the other hand, is respect towards my position, and I demand to be treated as at the very least your equal, if not your better. Feel free to kill me too, but realize first that it will accomplish nothing."

"Eh. it wasn't my choice to kill him. I just merely tried to knock him out. Anyway, I only treat people as equal if I see them as equal, and I don't see you as one. Prove to me I'm wrong, and then I will. I never planned any you you to die, just to compassionate, if anything. Keep your team under control, we will keep ours." Derik's leg kept it's pendulum going, but, it was slowing down more now.
