The wind blew softly over the island. Besides the soft swaying of the trees there was little to disturb the idyllic serenity here. The island stretched out for miles, but at the coasts there was nothing to see but water. The island, like the universe in which it existed, was nearly empty, the remnants of life clung, decaying, to its shores and its trees and its fields, but the yells of excitement, of fear, of courage that has once complimented the sound of the wind ha since faded to echoes. Today, however, that changed. Today life returned to the universe. The only question is; what kind of universe would it return to?

"C'mon, get up!"

"All of you, wake up."

"Rise and shine, it's a new day."

Far away voices entered the hazy minds of those sleeping on the island.

Lying on the shore of a short beach was Seraphim Valentine, Derik Absolon, and Samantha Allison, and Rodin Seefull. The wind blew over them as they lay sprawled over the sand in close proximity to each other. Just as they had been placed. Next to the beach was a mix of jungle and swamp that went deeper into the mainland. Besides that the beach was mostly barren. A wrecked fishing boat was rusted and decaying within walking distance, but nothing more. The waves lapped up on the shore softly...

Lying in the middle of an airstrip surrounded by jungle was a different group. Rusted machine parts lay strewn about, and any sign of activity at the airstrip had long since faded. On the ground in the middle of the airstrip lay Alex Dimanche, Ferro al'Vere, and Hazimie Azhar Two desolate bunkers flanked the airstrip they were on, with a control tower at the end of the strip. Forest flanked the airstrip on all sides, with a single winding road leading out. The wind cut through the trees and sliced past the bunkers onto the airstrip. Only the wind and the trees provided any sound to the desolate military installation...

Deep in the jungle was a pair of rusted jeeps parked next to a crumbling house. The jeeps were long past functioning, and their engines were removed recently as well. The house sat surrounded by the trees with a single road leading somewhere further into the jungle. Inside the house were the four people; Rija Mors, Terry Frost, Henko Tenioenai, Koizumi Onnea, and Rin Nozomi Part of the roof of the house had caved in, and most of the belongings and furniture were gone. Remaining in the house were a few pots and pans, and single picture in an immaculate frame on a table in the room where the four people were laying. Silence pervaded the house...

The far away voices slowly awakened all of these people. The clouds in the blue skies above moved slowly; the morning was upon them. It was time to wake up and find the future...

"Time's up for your little chat, kids, we gotta go." Rytt seemed somewhat impatient. Suddenly the forest around the airstrip dissipated. "Don't worry," Rytt said as the darkness drew in closer and closer, "we'll have plenty of time to talk soon."

Then there was nothing but darkness.

The carbon-micro glass covering of the cryo pod opened. Freezing solution vapor drifted out of the pod. Seraphim Valentine, Derik Absolon, and Samantha Allison, and Rodin Seefull were left disoriented laying in their pods which formed a circle in the cylindrical room that seemed have no doors. Elaryse was nowhere in sight. Each person was wearing a simple single-piece outfit that acted as a simply covering during the cryo-freeze. They were awake now, and nothing was holding them back from being able to get up and move around. There were no weapons or tools in sight. The only thing in the room besides the cryo-pods was a single console in the center that seemed to act as a sort of holographic display interface. Above the console was a camera with a red light shining from it's lens.

"Augh. Talk about major cooled-down muscles..." Derik thought. It had literally been nearly two and a half millennium since he last moved, so recalling the ability, but at last, he managed to sit up, and with some effort, stand up. The blood was only barely starting to rewarm in his body as he walked as best he could out of the pod, and to the console.

Rodin moaned and groaned as he woke up from the cryo freeze sleep.  He felt incredibly sore from not moving for many years.  He gets out of his pod and stretches, trying to get his blood pumping.  He looks around the room and says:  "Now this is more of a lab.  Elaryse doesn't seem to be here."  Rodin looks forward and sees a console with a red-shining lens.  He starts walking towards it in a drowsy manner.

Samantha opened her eyes and stared up at ceiling for a minute, "I wonder what that was about..." she murmured quietly before sitting up. "Its more like a cell than a lab..." Sam commented after hearing Rodin. She noticed there was one last sleeping figure in their pod. "better just let them wake up on their own..." Samantha thought to herself before slowly getting up careful not to let her blood rush to her head.

Koizumi slowly opened her eyes and her eyes darted around. So im finally awake now huh, she thought. Her whole body felt numb and her limbs felt like rubber from not being able to move for so long. She planted her hands on the ground before pushing herself up to her feet, enduring that bad feeling when you're trying to get blood circulating into your legs again. Koizumi stood there for a few minutes, getting feeling backing into her limbs, before stepping out of her pod and onto the cold surface of the floor. She didn't have any shoes at the moment so she had to just deal with it. "So this is what the future looks like.....what year is it anyways." she muttered to herself. Koizumi looked back to see the others in identical pods like her then turned back around to see a console in the center of the circle of pods. Koizumi walked up to it and examined it. This is a display for something, holograms perhaps, she thought.

Henko sighed. "I don't think I caught your name." He told Koizumi, sitting up slowly.

He checked his wrists. Grace and Brutality were gone. He sighed again. "I liked those..."

Koizumi felt the hairs on her neck stand up for a quick second before turning around to see that it was Henko. Geez I didn't even notice him wake up, she thought before turning around to face him. "It's Koizumi. Koizumi Onnea." she said. She noticed Henko check for his weapons and realized that hers were gone too. Maybe they never had them to begin with, but it didn't really bother her that much

Ferro al'Vere's eyes snapped open, and a breath of air expanded his lungs for the first time in millennia. He felt cold. He looked around the room. He lifted his right arm. No D-ppendage. He called up a scan of the room. A smile twitched his lips. His implant survived the deep freeze. Ferro took shaky steps off the cryo-platform and made his way to the console in the center of the room. He looked at the blue light. Blue like Rytt's vest.

"Henko Tenioenai." The bi-polar boy vaulted out of the capsule. He almost immediately got weak-kneed and fell to the cold ground.

"I'm okay." He declared, moving into a sitting position. He scratched the back of his head. "Heheh..."

Rija's eyes cracked open slightly. The room was dark, and a little chilly. She had finally been able to piece together what had happened to her before she woke. She remembered that a little bit before her final operation, a scientist had tried to talk the squad into joining the project. Rija's squad mates had all refused, saying they wanted family's, or weren't done with life. Rija said that she would, but only if necessary. Why not? Her entire life was fulfilling her duty. If she couldn't do it by being in her time, than maybe being frozen would help her each that goal. In any case, she was now assuming that after being wounded, it was smarter that she be frozen. The soldier stepped out of her pod, and breathed deeply. Koizumi was talking to the boy, who had just introduced himself as Henko. Rija cracked her knuckles, and stood fully. "We'll, what now?" She asked out loud.

Alex coughed, his breath forming ice crystals. He started to gag, a bit of liquid spitting out as he coughed several times.

He looked around the room; a circular area filled with pods--cryogenic pods. Alex remembered. He remembered how he got here. Shaking he stood up again. It was even more difficult than the first time. He looked to Ferro, then the console.

"My name is..Alex. Alex Dimanche."

Rin awoke slowly, she stumbled out of the pod thing.

"Henko where are we....?" Rin asked, sliding to sit beside him.

"It's freezing..." she thought.

(GYA WHY DO I MAKE SHORT POST. KILL ME OH HIGH LORD KUROI!!)

( You kill her, I kill you >_> )

Henko shrugged. "Someplace cold. I can tell you that much." He told Rin.

"Hey, Koizumi. What do you think that thing is?" He asked pointing to the console in the center of the room.

"And you," he pointed to Rija. "Who are you?"

(You can't kill him! Then I wouldn't have a partner to work with!)

Finally, a name. "Well, Alex, it seems we have nothing else to do but wait, seeing as there doesn't seem to be a way out of here." Ferro gestured for Alex to come over. "Rytt will probably addressing us soon."

(*Guns pointed at everyone* o-o)

Alex nodded. "It appears so. But I believe I can pry a few answers from this place alone." He said, walking to the center console. The holographic image intrigued him, as it seemed to be some sort of GUI. He looked up at the camera above him and squinted. "Interesting."

Ferro glanced back at the console. "What's so interesting about it. It's just a regular hologram terminal. Everybody in the galaxy had something like it. They probably have something a whole lot better now."

(Stop killing people! That makes people sad...)

Rija looked to Henko, and gave a slight salute. "Rija Mors, member of the Elite Forces. Nice to meet you Henko." She looked around fully, and noticed the console for the first time. She wandered towards it, and looked down to it. "Honestly, I just want to touch it and see what happens. Anybody else think that's a good idea?" Rija asked the group around her. The console was inviting, and there wasn't much else in the room. What could go wrong anyway?

(Guns? I would use a sword... I'm short on ideas... I'll post later)

Koizumi crossed her arms and looked to see more of her small group awaken. "Sure, I dont see why not. It's not like there's anything else here to look at." Koizumi glanced back at the console. "Although it does look like something you'd use to show a hologram of some sort so...maybe a message for us will come out if you manage to turn it on." She slightly frowned. "It could be a message from that Veridyan brat for all we know but it could be just as important to us as well."

(*Guns pointed at everyone* o-o)

In each respective cryo-room the lit camera began to move. They peered around at their respective rooms, and from the consoles below them came voices.

Familiar voices.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Hello you two." Rytt's voice emanated from the blue-lighted console and camera. "I hope you aren't too shocked, but we've got a lot to catch you two up on. First things first, I'm not exactly human."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Soooooooooo...." Veridyan's voice rang out from the console and green camera in the center of the room. "Glad to see everyone's up! Surprise, I'm a robot!"

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The red camera examined the people in the room. "Welcome to the future." It was Elaryse's voice. "I hope you understand, for the purposes of not overwhelming you intially, but the body you saw me in before was simply a fabrication. Let me introduce myself. I am Elaryse, one of four top-echelon sentient artificials, what you may call artificial intelligences, or if you wish to be obtuse, robotic beings."

"Robots... Greaaaaaat. This is gonna turn into a robot-horror fic, ain't it?" Derik thought, not being too shocked that their awakener was a robot, seeing as the time they were in robots would be very common, if not, cyborgs. "If I may interject for a moment.... Tectonically, we're all in the past. No known technology is able to-as far as I know-go beyond a human brain in terms of speed as humans themselves are too slow to build devices like that, and the human brain itself is too slow to be in the present time, past study's have shown. So, if we're being technically, we're in the past, mentally of course." Derik sighed after the slight lecture he gave. He was probably getting odd looks from everyone around. "What? I was a bit of a science major during my years of schooling..."

Seraphim blinked.

"...computers. I understand computers..." She shakily stood up. "Uh...wait...this is a stupid outfit." She groaned. "Can I get something better to wear? Please?"

"I had thought so." Alex replied, looking up at the camera. This was strikingly like a video game he had played once--robotic eye in the center of the room; possibly having a lot of control over a facility. Hopefully, though, Rytt wasn't psychotic, evil, and obsessed with testing. Alex smiled at the camera above him, looking a little pleased with himself.

"Robot..." Henko said to himself. "Thought so." I mean, if he were frozen and in the futures if course talking robots would be around. He said they were needed to save the universe... So that must mean the rest of the human race was missing or something. But there was a more important question to be asked. "Veridyan!" He called, raising his hand. "Can I get my weapon back?" It was hard to deny. Grace and Brutality was cool.

"So the intelligent artificials survived this long. I guess I'm not surprised." Ferro stared at the hologram console with slightly narrowed eyes. "Why aren't there any scientists here to take vital signs and assist the thaw process?"
