The wind blew softly over the island. Besides the soft swaying of the trees there was little to disturb the idyllic serenity here. The island stretched out for miles, but at the coasts there was nothing to see but water. The island, like the universe in which it existed, was nearly empty, the remnants of life clung, decaying, to its shores and its trees and its fields, but the yells of excitement, of fear, of courage that has once complimented the sound of the wind ha since faded to echoes. Today, however, that changed. Today life returned to the universe. The only question is; what kind of universe would it return to?

"C'mon, get up!"

"All of you, wake up."

"Rise and shine, it's a new day."

Far away voices entered the hazy minds of those sleeping on the island.

Lying on the shore of a short beach was Seraphim Valentine, Derik Absolon, and Samantha Allison, and Rodin Seefull. The wind blew over them as they lay sprawled over the sand in close proximity to each other. Just as they had been placed. Next to the beach was a mix of jungle and swamp that went deeper into the mainland. Besides that the beach was mostly barren. A wrecked fishing boat was rusted and decaying within walking distance, but nothing more. The waves lapped up on the shore softly...

Lying in the middle of an airstrip surrounded by jungle was a different group. Rusted machine parts lay strewn about, and any sign of activity at the airstrip had long since faded. On the ground in the middle of the airstrip lay Alex Dimanche, Ferro al'Vere, and Hazimie Azhar Two desolate bunkers flanked the airstrip they were on, with a control tower at the end of the strip. Forest flanked the airstrip on all sides, with a single winding road leading out. The wind cut through the trees and sliced past the bunkers onto the airstrip. Only the wind and the trees provided any sound to the desolate military installation...

Deep in the jungle was a pair of rusted jeeps parked next to a crumbling house. The jeeps were long past functioning, and their engines were removed recently as well. The house sat surrounded by the trees with a single road leading somewhere further into the jungle. Inside the house were the four people; Rija Mors, Terry Frost, Henko Tenioenai, Koizumi Onnea, and Rin Nozomi Part of the roof of the house had caved in, and most of the belongings and furniture were gone. Remaining in the house were a few pots and pans, and single picture in an immaculate frame on a table in the room where the four people were laying. Silence pervaded the house...

The far away voices slowly awakened all of these people. The clouds in the blue skies above moved slowly; the morning was upon them. It was time to wake up and find the future...

Samantha blinked and looked at the guy that couldn't seem to shut up, "uh...huh... well my only question is, how do you know you weren't the one who wiped out your species?" She asked deciding she wasn't even going to try to understand any of what Derik was talking about. With that she walked around the small room and looked at the lit up panels. Sam walked near one but didn't dare step on it.

(If you're confused, let me explain. He is questioning the bots motives. Similar to me, this situation seems quite fishy and wants more answers, and was explaining reasons why he needed to hear them. Every OC of mine gets a piece of my personality, so to speak, this it the detective side of me in a manner: Able to do as neccicary to gain info he needs, he's sly, not afraid to lie and snake around if it means he gets the right answers to all the questions, weather right or wrong)

(Gohan?  xD  But wouldn't it be him evading a punch?)

Rodin listens in to Elaryses' response.  He crosses his arms, trying to collect and understanding everything.  He listens to Derik's interrogation( was trying to think of something that'd fit the description) on Elaryse.  Trying to process more matter, Rodin thinks:  Geez, all of this is something.  I would like to find out how all the other humans vanished.  I can't stand evil of any form and want to see it punished.  But it could be true that Elaryse is responsible for "removing" everyone on our home planet.  For these SAs' to use humans to do their dirty work is suspicious.  Hm.  Guess there's just one thing to do.  Rodin walks and steps onto one of the platforms.  He then says:  "I'll go.  The sooner this is started the better."

(No, Gohan is a metaphor for the questions, she is dodging all my OC's questions, Gohan's fists, at a rate fast enough to do so successfully)

Rytt's camera turned to Ferro, the blue light on it shining.

"Ha, Asimov. The guys had some foresight, sure, but he's outdated as crap, y'know, no offense. Listen, SAs aren't built like you would think of normal artificial intelligences. Most AIs are built from the ground up for their reasoning capabilities. This works well for simpler AIs that maintain systems, but not for creative thinking. The ultimate would then be one who maintains a sense of self, and of creativity, combined with the traditional AI traits of heavy reasoning capability. SAs are partially biological in that, their programming is based off of integrated software that serves the functions of certain parts of the human brain. It allows for the combination of huge amounts of data-analysis and reasoning but the human-traits necessary for creative thinking. "

He continued "SAs can thus create their own rules to follow. It offers the positive effects of learning and creativity beyond human comprehension on the points of scientific creations, our purpose. Software-based tethers are supposed to stop them from doing anything rash, though. Somehow one of us was able to get around them. The reason why I need your help is that regardless of the software tethers, several failsafes in infrastructure keep SAs from having access to portions of technology. Only humans can interface with them. If I'm to find out who's responsible and fix this mess I must be able to access that kind of data."

The panels glowed again.

"So" Rytt seemed almost pleading "will you help me?"

"If you wish me to answer questions" Elaryse said, noticeably annoyed "then you should ask specific ones. You wish for the 'truth', it is far too extensive to simply explain, and that is no even including the things that I simply do not know. I was not there when the event happened. I juggled dozens of projects, there were only 4 SAs of my level, there was much I had to do. If you wish to learn the truth, then work with me to find it. I am taking us towards Space Station Psi, the place where me and the other Y-Class SAs were created. You wish to learn more about the SAs, you will find it there, and I will help you."

The camera turned to Samantha. "How do you know it wasn't me? You can't know, whoever did it left no evidence as to who it was. Thus there is no way to know if I was the cause of it or not. Regardless, I brought humans back for a reason. I brought you back to find the perpetrator, destroy them, and rebuild. As I stated to the boy there, it is your choice whether to join me, but I require you to work towards unlocking the needed secrets for us to see if you are to stay with me. There are things that SAs cannot do, interfaces built to lock us out as a failsafe. Those obviously failed, and now they need to be disabled so I can stop whichever SA is hiding behind our vulnerabilities. I am sure the other SAs think the same thing, but I do not know if their intent is the same as mine. I must act, and I need your help. At Space Station Psi you will learn more about SAs, let us waste no more time."

The panel Rodin was on rose into the air. From the ceiling suddenly came several mechanical arms. They held out his arms and from compartments in the ceiling came pieces of mesh and hard armor. Piece by piece Rodin was fitted with the futuristic looking armor. It was tinted a crimson color, and had what looked to be a small holo-console on the wrist. Behind the neck was a space where the retractable helmet was stored, when activated it covered the users entire head for use in space environments.  The holo-console shone the same color and pattern as the large console in front of them, it seemed to be a communication system.

Veridyan's camera turned to Terry. "How do you know I'm the trustworthy one? Well, my boyish good looks a hella sense of humor!" He burst out laughing at that, but quickly regained his composure. "I guess you really can't, though. Whoever did it is really good, so there's no way to show you it ain't me. Maybe I'm not so deserving of it, but you should trust me for now. Maybe ya don't like me, and if so I dunno why, but if you don't I guess I understand, but I'm still your best bet and your still mine, kay?"

As Henko and Rin stepped onto the panels, both were raised up slightly. The ceiling came apart and robotic arms came down with various armor pieces that were fitted to their bodies. It was a light rubbery mesh overlaid with denser metal that was colored a dark green. On the back of their necks was a retractable compartment that could be extended with a single thought to cover over their head with a small oxygen tank for breathing and surviving in space. On their wrists was a small holo-console that was shinig green and looked similiar to bigger one between them. A sort of communication device.

"Our first destination..." Veridyan shouted excitedly, "is Psi, the place I was born! If I'm gonna be of some help to you guys and we find the culprit together then I'll need some mods we'll find there!"

"Wrong answers, you useless hunk of metal." Derik thought. "Fine. Rather than give me a debriefing, as per request, you just avoid it again. I won't trust you, you have given me no reason to. And as such, I hope you don't mind, but I would rather form my equipment by hand than your technology. If you wish me to help you more than provide support from the rear, you will allow this and lso give me the material required to build my gear. Refuse, I will just hang back in here and happily consider cryo sleep again." Derik's stern look and steely resolve showed in his face: cold, icy stare, dead-looking dull black eyes that showed his distaste. "That goes for you fool's as well. You just believe what this thing says, and that gives me reasonable doubt about trusting you. Survive this war the robots will generate, and maybe I will see you again, but my doubt in you the same as now." Derik sighed and waited for the bots answer on him developing his equipment by hand.

Elaryse paused. Then she laughed.

"You are free to think whatever you wish. If you have a question, ask it. I have yet to refuse you on that account. If you wish for a full debrief, there is simply no time. Your questions otherwise are fine. If you wish to think that I'm evading your questions, you may feel free to continue deluding yourself.. As for your own constructions, there is only a certain amount of supplies on this ship, and those are only unrefined metals which I have forged into the needed materials for modern armor for you and your comrades. I have correctly assumed that humans of your era have no knowledge of the required technology to interface with machines of this time, to build your own gear would serve no purpose, unless you truly wish to never leave this ship."

The camera panned over the group slowly.

"So... what is your choice? I am not asking you to trust me, I do not trust you. However, it is one thing to go forward with caution, and another to stop motion altogether because you fear where you may go. You either have the confidence in yourself and some in others to attempt a future, or you will freeze yourself in the past. That analogy seems quite fitting for the situation.  Regardless of what you want, or what I want, allow yourself to find that, don't be paralyzed by your own indecision and lack of trust, that is the greatest sin of humanity."

Rodin looks on the armor and thinks:  Now this.... is pretty cool.  I'm sure the best inventors or forgers could make armor this advanced.  Incredible.  He listens in on Derik's statements, crosses his arms and thinks:  Got to say, the guy is unwavering and has pretty good points.  But keeping this up, he may not get any closer to answers.  It's true that it may be a fools' errand to go along with the SA's plan on words alone.  But it has to be done for now.  It think it's fine to trust to a degree.  Trust in the moment, but always be on your guard.  Observe and investigate when there is an opportunity.  I'd like to tell him this, but I don't want to break Elaryse's trust this soon.  And personally, the way he said the "fool" line annoyed me a little.  But it's already done so....just have to see where this goes.

Rodin says to Elaryse:  "I already said I chose my decision.  I'll just wait over by a wall for everyone else."  Rodin walks and leans up against a wall, folding his arms and looking out.

Samantha sighed and stepped onto the panel, ".... ill go with it for now, not like there are alot of options left". She looked at the one who refused to join, "goodluck with whatever you are trying to accomplish." Out of habit from the military she saluted him then looked toward the camera. " I'll do as you ask as long as it doesn't cross my morals, fair enough?"

Elaryse paused. Then she laughed.

"Thinks I'm simple, simple enough to just believe blindly. Thinks I'm the type to listen to everything she says because she insults me, my intellect by saying I'm deluded, then tries to throw me off. I'm not gonna trust you, not till I see you as a husk of metal with no juice. Maybe this is why I never was cut out for the army or anything: i don't trust blindly." Derik thought, listing to all she had to say. "Trust me, I'm a quick study. If you refuse, though, I'll happily use this ship for parts. It won't take me long to get to it. Now, if you would, please, provide me with materials and tools." Derik said with a cold tone again.

Ferro stood for a moment staring at the camera. "I like the way you think, SA. All right, I'll join with you." Ferro turned and clapped Alex on the shoulder. "Coming?" Ferro stepped onto a glowing panel.

(It's just meant to offer some story insight while I'm off doing other things and incapable of writing out a lengthy post as I often do, and also allowing for more people to catch up and post without flooding too much information into the thread.)

B"you are an idiot. You refuse to trust anyone then tell her to trust you? You're a joke." Seraphim stepped onto the glowing panel.

"I need a computer. I need all knowledge of the current systems used and their base code. I also need a dark room I can be alone in to get up to speed, as well as the best counterintrusion software you can lend me so I can get caught up." She cracked her fingers. "You want my help? Then I want the capabilities to hack everything. Please. I was once a wizard level hacker; I need to keep my crown."

"Our only difrence here is that I am at a disadvantage in terms of technical power, hut not in man power in this situation, Poppit. She has plenty of power, but she lacks capable fighters and technicians. We have a small group, and at that, not all of us are trained fighters or technicians like you or I. Our resource is small, limited, she could kill us, yes, but how would that help her? Not a lot of humans signed up to be frozen, so she has to spare as many as she can for troops. If I felt like it, I could likely just rip the ship apart, steal a space suit or something of that nature, and get to one of the other Bot Masters and join their groop instead, rinse, repeat. But I feel like if she wants me to work with her, she will have to trust me not to do this. If I attempted a stunt of that nature, anyway, I likely would die, but that is besides the point. This is my gambit on forcing the thing to give us more info than its willing, and if not, it should know that I have no reason to trust it, but also note is has not many others to place faith in. Either she trusts me, or she has one less capable troop." Derik's annoyance level was peaking. "I don't expect any of you to understand a mental chess match of this caliber, anyway."

Closing his eyes, Rodin thinks:  I never was or could get into chess.  To me it's more complicated than it should be, like what's going on now.  "Not all of us are trained fighters"?  Heh.  That was almost funny.

"Ok, Elly? I'm calling you Elly SA chick. Can I shoot him? His arrogance is astounding. Listen. One, never call me poppit. Two. Wizard level hacker. I get into mental chess games of a caliber you cannot fathom. Third, your arrogance is probably why they froze you. To shut you up." She growled. "Elly. Suit me up."

Seraphim and Sam suddenly rose up, and a similar process to what occurred to Rodin happened with both of them, with pieces of a futuristic spacesuit/armor/utility gear being assembled and then equipped. The armor looked very similar to Rodin's, with a similar mini-holo-consoles imbedded on the wrist area of the armor. Seraphim's armor came with an extra feature, though. On the opposite wrist from the holoconsole was a virtually displayed computer console.

"Technology has advanced a bit since laptops, I thought you may find this more useful. You can pull up the computer whenever you wish and manipulate code with your mind, no need for an interface."

The camera turned to Derik.

"As for you..." A huge heap of raw metal of various types dropped from the ceiling. Lastly a series of cutting and welding tools were dropped as well.

"Build what you will, but there is not much time, we are already here."

Derik smirked. "Why, thank you." He preformed a mocking bow, and then walked over to the piles of scrap. "Looks like just enough iron in here to make what I need. Good." Derik picked up the energy saw first, then a large chunk of the metal scrap. In a a single, false swipe, he used the blade unelectrified and slashed through the pile of iron with little effort. He contenued this process rather speedily, then activated the blade and began ribbioning each individual pile at great speed, and making such thin slices that the iron seemed to turn into a thread. He used the sautering tools to make it so thread-like that it became flexible and stringgy to the point of the metal now being pretty much thread. He then used the sauteres to bind the threads into a large iron coat, then put it on. "By chance, do you have any lead?" Derik asked the robot, after he finished making the coat and placing it on.

Rija was still quite unsure of whether or not she should trust Veridyan. Assuming all he said was true, that meant pretty much all humans were gone, and the only ones left were those cryogenically frozen. She didn't know which of the robots had done the deed, but the only way to find out, was to step onto the lit tile and hope for the best. "I sincerely hope you don't stab us in the back." Rija said out loud, before stepping onto one of the glowing squares.

Elaryse seemed somewhat impatient.

"Lead, sorry, you're on your on for that."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rija's Panel was raised up and she was equipped with the green armor.

"I should explain right now" Veridyan began to speak as the armoring process was going on. "The things on your arms are communication devices, they connect you directly to me and to the rest of the people in this room through direct voice and holographic chat. They can also be used to allow me to interface with certain electronics if need be."

Veridyan's camera turned to Terry. "Well, we're here it seems, ready to suit up?"

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ferro's panel lifted him above the ground where various mechanical arms descended with armored parts which they began to assembel around him. After a time it began to be clear that it was armor it was building around him, a sort of protective suit. On Ferro's wrist was now a holo-console.

"That thing on your wrist is a communication device wireless connected to me and to Alex here. It should come in handy if you encounter unforeseen issues."

The last remaining panel glowed. "Ready, Alex?"

On Ferro's wrist was now a holo-console. "That thing on your wrist is a communication device wireless connected to me and to Alex here. It should come in handy if you encounter unforeseen issues." The last remaining panel glowed. "Ready, Alex?"

"That's fine. This will do for now. I need the COM system and helmet for survival in space, feel like you an provide that? Derik asked, then set to work on forming a pair of gauntlets for a temporary weapon. He used the energy from the saw to heat and melt the scraps he had left into thin bars of iron, then affixed them together best he could with left over iron string he had. "Rudimentary, Nd nothing like I wanna use, but they will do until I find a supply room on the station and have time to improve..." Derik sighed with that thought and used the sauterer to fuse the string and bars into place, and fit them on. "Still got it..." He said as the glove fit perfectly over his hand, and then the other doing the same.

Seraphim grinned. She began manipulating the code, and within moments had completely personalized the system.

"Can I project a keyboard? I just amnold school." The girl flicked her pink hair over her shoulder. "And...thanks. Feels good to have a computer again." She keyed something, and Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries played. "Valkyrie is back."

"So just after waking up, we already have an important mission to do." Koizumi said to herself as she grazed her hands over her gear and armor. It looked so futuristic that just staring at it made her eyes glistening with excitement. Koizumi got right away to putting on the new gear and armor. She mostly trusted Veridyan for the time being but she still has that small doubt that this could all be a trap just to exterminate the last survivors of humanity. A thought like that could haunt a person but all the fancy gear and technology was pushing those thoughts away for now

Ferro flexed his hand, moved his leg, and did a backflip with an aerial spin off the platform. Landing solidly on his feet, he glanced at Alex. "I've practiced a lot of acrobatic moves, simply because they are useful when flying through the air." Ferro felt something itching the back of his mind. He knew it would be a tech report even before he pulled it up. He tested a few things; yes, he could toggle various functions through his implant, like the helmet and holo-comm. He turned to Rytt's console. "This suit is great and all, but I don't see anything with which I can defend myself."

Alex nodded. He stepped onto the glowing panel. His mind felt foggy--he guessed it was due to the after effects of cryo-freezing. He hoped that was the case and it would pass by soon. "Yes, I'm ready, Rytt." Alex said, looking forward. His expression was blank; nearly enigmatic.
