I don't know if there's a thread about this already, but is the narrator (the one who talks to Sora mainly in the tutorial and before the final ASOD fight) Ventus? Would this explain why Sora is the only one that can hear him, because Ventus is in Sora's heart?

 It wasn't explained how Mickey could but he did obviously as proven above in the KH Ultimania. It is what it is.

Not the first time. The very first Micky spoke to Rikus heart was when he was wondering the RoD after loosing his body to Ansem SoD. That was before he ever met Mickey physically or even knew about him.

Maybe not, but Ventus wasn't even an idea yet. I'm sure if Nomura had answered this after BbS had been written, he would have said it was Ventus. But he wasn't and he can't go back on it now. Besides, Ventus's heart was still too damaged to do anything at the time of the first game.For my part, I always thought it was the Keyblade itself until Nomura said otherwise.If it makes you feel better about it, you can believe that Micky was trying to speak to Ven (who he did have a connection with) in order to find his heart, but got Sora instead because that's where it was.

Know what I think? Sora was dreaming, and it was a part of himself that his waking state doesn't notice, but reveals information to him while asleep, possibly a combo of Ventus and the yet-to-be born Roxas comunicating telepathecly with Sora's unconsiuse state.

Makes sense i mean Mickey has been shown to have great proficiency in using the power of light to achieve feats like connecting his heart with others. Much like Sora and to a lesser extent Riku
