She won't give permission to them and it would be weird using Such an old Song for a New Game...nobody does that

Where's this information about Utada at anyway? I've never heard any of this, especially with KH3 just now being announced this year.

I'm pretty sure it will be another rehas of sanctuary or simple and clean.

I think she confirmed it in an interview where her dad said something like "We already said no to Disney"(might have been the interview after her mother commited suicide this year)

I doubt they'll reuse the actual songs again. They'll do one of five things

 

- Get a new song from Utada. 

- Get a new song from someone who isn't Utada.

- Use one of the Orchestral versions like DDD did.

- Yoko Shimomura will write a new piece for the opening, maybe something like Somnus.

- Or they'll reuse one of the songs, which would be thoroughly depressing.

MAybe they'll mix Simple and Clean and Sanctuary. I could see it."Its hard to let it go...You show me, how to see that nothing is whole and... nothing...is broken...Hold me...Whatever lies beyond this morning is a little later on..." and so on and so forth. I think that would be perfect. Sanctuary instrumental for the opening CGI, and this for the credits.

Utada or not I demand a new song for KHIII. Portables are fine for reusing old songs but dammit this is the next numbered title and the final entry in the current storyline. It deserves new song, a epic one that matches the story as well as Simple and Clean did the first.

Well we can't get Utada back and it wouldn't be right to copy-and-paste for something like this, so what other choice is there.Do you really want the most awesome KH ever to open and close with recycled songs?I know I don't

Yui would be an excellent choice for a New Theme but she doesn't know english(I wouldn't mind Subtitles Personally though)

I really hope Utada does another one. She HAS to...It would be the second most disappointing thing that has ever happened to me next to my car being totaled in a flood that I had to push it out of myself...In pouring down rain.

In an interview about KH2, Nomura acknowledged that we wanted Utada Hikaru. Nomura: "Many fans seem to have the image Kingdom Hearts = Utada Hikaru so I didn’t think of changing that at all."I don't think he's thinking of changing that at all again, he'll eventually make a deal with Utada Hikaru and they'll sort out thw things about the money and so on.

True, but that was such a long time ago, and I'm pretty sure even before she commented about not wanting to do another one.

 

Doing a remix of the first two songs together or something would still technically fall into what he said, and I would hate that.

 

But I hope you're right.
