Why do people even want it? It's driven me to the point of irritation how everyone is begging for it. There's absolutely no point in doing so.

I apologize if I'm posting this topic in the wrong place but I wasn't sure where to put it.

Exactly, really no point to it...

Because Kingdom Hearts 3 is going to be on the PS4 and fans want all of them on the same console is what my guess would be

Aside from that, it's basically pointless...unless the PS4 is backwards compatible...is it?

No, it will not be.

No, it will not be.

Oh. Then yeah, that's their only solid argument. Otherwise, it's basically pointless.

its because not everyone can afford a ps3 and a ps4 so since they didn't previously have a ps3 they want a ps4 since they say the generation of the ps3 is kinda leaving, with that being the case they need the games (1.5 and 2.5) to go to ps4 so they can still play them that's the point. Hope this gives you at least a little more understanding

Those who don't already own a PS3, and are planning to get a PS4 for KH3, would rather it be ported so they can just get one to have the whole series (or MX saga, minus DDD...) on one system, which I can't blame them, if I didn't have a PS3 I'd probably want the same, but then again I won't beg for any game to be put on any console, I find it slightly pathetic.....

It irritates me to see anyone begging for them to be put on different consoles when it's already officially announced what they will be on

Might be on the cloud. Who knows?

It actually irritates me that people oppose this idea...Why do you people care if others want 1.5 and 2.5 on the PS4? If your happy with playing them on the PS3, then cool. The reason why I want Kingdom Hearts 1.5 and 2.5 on the PS4 is because Kingdom Hearts 3 is on there, and I want to have all the Kingdom Hearts games on 1 console...Plus, not to mention the PS4 isn't backwards compatible so at the moment it isn't possible to play 1,5 and 2.5 on the PS4. Those who want to buy a PS4 and want to play the entire KH series but don't have a PS3 won't be able to unless they buy a PS3. Buying a PS3 is not something many people want to do at this point. Don't assume that everyone has a PS3. It's really not hard to understand.

Then buy a PS3.

Then buy a PS3.

So I should want to buy a PS3 when It would be more convenient to just get those games on the PS4? Having them all on one console is more convenient than having to buy 2 separate consoles. That's the point.

How is having 1.5 and 2.5 on the PS4 pointless?

Because making the EXACT SAME GAME with the same amount of graphics on the PS4 after just releasing on the PS3 (a console that hasn't seen anything Kingdom Hearts) is a waste of effort and money. And making another version that upscales the graphics to PS4 quality is an even bigger waste of resources. Basically, they're being smart by releasing it on the system that most people already have and will likely get because of it's relative cheapness compared to the PS4. They want to get something like this done while the console still has half of it's entire life cycle ahead of it.

And before you talk about expenses, keep in mind that these days PS3's go for $200, 1/3 of it's original launch price. Buying a PS3 is going to be WAY EASIER than buying a PS4, which costs about twice as much. Even then, the PS4 is still relatively cheap compared to the PS3's original price of $600. Point is though, with a price of $200, it's going to be far easier to save up money, it just takes actual effort to save up, which is an individual factor for many people.

Not everyone has the same privileges, but a very large number are in the average range of people who have had experience with at least one previous generation console and have the right resources to allow them to save up and buy a discounted current gen console. The transition to next gen is still going to be relatively slow, but it at least allows the current gen a chance to allow everyone to catch up.

Besides, planing to get a next gen console months and years BEFORE your particular game is released isn't too wise economically. I usually wait until the last month or so until the game's release. By that time I would have saved up enough for both the console and the game in question. And saving up for a PS4 after having just saved up for a PS3 isn't that unreasonable of a task, depending on your economic situation. If you have enough patience, you could get both.

But again, everything really depends on your priorities.

I see your point, Well I can understand not having 1.5 and 2.5 on the PS4 at this time, but it still makes sense to release them later on in the PS4's life cycle, maybe around KH3 releases, whether through digital or Gaikai or whatever  because not everyone is going to spend $200 dollars for a console just for 2 games, but I understand your point. The point I was making is that the previous Kingdom Hearts games should be on the PS4 at some point even it if does take some time.

Time works towards everything, one way or the other.

Well to play KH3 you'll have to upgrade eventually...lol

People who dont have a ps3  and wanna have it can buy a ps3, but then later they have to buy a ps4 for kh3.

Thats why people want it to be on the ps4

Yeh I'm not really sure to buy a PS4 just for KH3.

I might just end up to watch it on youtube. I'll miss all the fun but oh well.

You got a point there. Having 2bluray players is a bit stupid by my option.

If it is not on the cloud is this just fair and square.

It would be a shame for you to miss out on KH3.
