Why are "based-off-novels" movies the same? (Spoiler Warning!)

Posted

Yeah, many movies that are based off Novels, Books, Comic Books, etc... have all the same ending! Death! Death!

Harry Potter staretd to be a good movie until the last movies killed off many important character... I'm surprised that Harry didn't die!

Carrie was also a movie which she died! The main versions of the old and new movie are the SAME! Why did she have to die? Only the "unofficial" movies made her redeem herself for what she did!

Narnia... a lovely movie, right?... Not really... they all die, except Susan, on a train crash... Nice way to end a saga...

And the list keeps goin'...

Well Idk about the latter two things, but in Harry Potter pretty much all of those people died in the books. So they were just sticking to the books after six movies of leaving things out

I'm not sure I understand the point being made. If a character in the book dies, and then does the same in the movie adaptation, what, exactly, is the problem? That they're adhering to canon? Because as much as I like Boromir, I think I would be far more upset if he were to just walk it off in the movie.

Same with Narnia.

Marcomax. You should have expected that from Narnia. It was a child-friendly allegory for the Bible, the last one being Revelations and pretty much everyone in the world dies at the end of that book.

Though it was only the really old versions that completed the series. The new ones skipped books 1 and 3 and ended with 5. Probably due to the lack of Pevensies. Sure the fist was a prequel to the second, but since its been around so long they still could have made that one first, but that's beside the point.

Carrie's death WAS uneeded in my opinion, but it's presented as her being a victom of circumstance, except the 2002 version... which is my fav of the three current adaptions, BTW.

Harry Potter was a death fest in the books, so it just carried over.

I dislike Narnia, so I wouldn't know about that one.

if they ever make the much hyped MAXIMUM RIDE movie, I wonder who's gonna croak in it...?
