I noticed a pattern in KH titles in regards to Terra, Ventus, and Aqua. In every major title minus Birth by Sleep and the first KH( because they are the three playable characters and because they were not thought of yet in KH1) they have been a boss battle, but with there armor. In KH2FM Sora Donald and Goofy fought Terra Lingering will at the Keyblade Graveyard. In DDD Riku fought Ventus' armor when Sora's heart was wounded from Young Xehanort and Xemnas. See the pattern? That's why I believe that we will see a Aqua boss battle in KH3. Maybe while looking for Ventus, Riku and Mickey would encounter it and have to fight it or maybe Kairi would have to fight it sometime in the story after her training? Also how would you guys feel if they put Yen Sid as a secret boss in KH3.Maybe as a younger version of himself or in Keyblade armor ? Sora vs Yen Sid would be INSANE. Let me know what you guys think.

But they put monstro and Julies as optional boss so they should be able to with Yen Sid.

Monstro and Julius's personalities fit to be in fighting mode, but Master Yen Sid was never shown to fight anyone, so having him to fight in KH would kinda change his personality and I think this is a thing that Disney don't won't.I am so hoping to have Master Yen Sid back to fight, but I doubt that they would let Square Enix to do that.

Goofy does not have a personality to fight yet he fights alongside Sora and Donald. I don't remember him ever fighting in any of the Disney cartoons he was in either. So if they could do it for goofy, Then they can for Yen Sid.

The Three Musketeers? 

Yea I could see Sora and co. stumbling upon the room with Aqua's armor and it comes to life and attacks them for whatever reason. To protect Ven maybe? And the only way I could see Sora having a reason to fight Yen Sid would be an optional boss provided by Yen Sid to test Sora's skills. Maybe he'd have Sora face off against a hologram of Yen Sid or something like that. Idk how these ideas could be worked into the story and have them make sense though.

i dunno, consider Aqua will most likely be back in 3, she'll probably just summon her armor. Seems unlikely

I LOVE the armor theory. I love to see Kairi fight Aqua's armor.

There could be other ways lol. Here is my theory of the boss battle and what happens after . After her training is complete Yen Sid sends Kairi to catch up to Riku and King Mickey ( so she can help them found Terra, Ventus, and Aqua) .But before then, she has to show that she is capable to survive on her own, so Yen Sid opens a portal to Castle Oblivion so she can battle Aqua's armor alone. Yen Sid knows that she will not lose her memory because of Namine protecting her from the effects of the Castle ( maybe her and Namine share the same abilities?) after a long and crazy battle Kairi beats the armor, but before the armor disappears, it tells Kairi how to find Aqua in the realm of darkness, and the armor also gives Kairi its keyblade so she can return it back to Aqua when she is saved. As the armor falls ,the portal opens back to Yen Sid's tower. In the tower Kairi informs Yen Sid and Lea that she knows how to open the door to light where Aqua is located. With this new knowledge Yen Sid tells Kairi to hurry and catch up to Riku and Mickey. as she leaves Lea asked Yen Sid why he made Kairi fight the armor alone, Yen Sid explains that she was the only one that was capable of fighting in castle oblivion ( since everybody lost their memory in Castle Oblivion except for Aqua, organization members, and Namine) and they needed the information to how to save Aqua, which only the armor might know( mickey only knows where Aqua is located but not how to reach her) . With Lea understanding why right away, Yen Sid orders Lea to help Sora, Donald, and Goofy look for the Keyblade to Return Hearts. Lea agrees since he wants to see the return of Roxas and Xion in person. That's how I see the boss battle going and how the prologue ending.

That's a great theory, and I'd LOVE for it to happen. Just one error: Aqua's armor is in Radiant Garden, not Castle Oblivion.

I think Aqua's armor would be an absolutely amazing battle, actually.  I don't think it's too radical a notion to be completely shoved off, either.  As for a young Yen Sid battle, I doubt they'll end up doing something like that, but then again, I never would of imagined we would ever see young Xehanort fighting Riku either.  So, I guess you never know.  If anything, I think it will be a secret boss battle that doesn't count as canon.

I could have sworn her armor was in castle oblivion. oh well. But I hope they do have kairi join up with Riku and King Mickey when they search for TVA. And it makes more since for Lea to team up with Sora, Donald, and Goofy, when they look for the Keyblade to Return Hearts IMO.

Nope. Aqua's armor and Keyblade are in the Chamber of Repose underneath Radiant Garden Castle, and the scene where this is shown is in KH2FM+. Anyway, I'd love it if your theory comes true.
