When the Wii U came out, everyone was complaining about the update that had to be done before you could do anything. That was always one of the biggest things all these "reviewers" complained about when reviewing the Wii U. However, the PS4 and Xbox One come out with even greater updates that took much longer than the Wii U's 15 minute update. Yet, I haven't seen a single complaint from anyone. Sure, the PS4 had that whole USB thing you could do. Still, no one seemed to complain about either system. Is this a case of video game prejudice?

Fool. It's just that those two systems are much better and can do so much more, a little update is acceptable to get to the good stuff. What do you get with a wii U with an update? Just that, a wii U with an update. Nothing to hype for.

To the 'hardcore' gamer crowd, Nintendo consoles are just for kids, not like the REAL manly consoles like Sony and Microsoft have got. So anytime Nintendo does something that's somewhat negative, regardless of if the PS4 and Xbox did it even worse, it'll still get shit on a lot more just because it's Nintendo. The only reason it's even beating the Xbox One by this point is because of the disaster that was it's announcement by Microsoft, and the subsequent 180 it did afterward. They've pretty much shot their credibility to nothing. 

It's expected with Sony consoles to have an update When more and more people get their hands onthe PS4 and Xbone, they're going to make their complaints.  On googling though I found articles that pointed out you have to do an update first, and because so many people have bought it the download speed for the update could be delayed.  

And I remember seeing complaints when the Xbone was released about it's update.

 

Fact of the matter is that Nintendo tried to break into the "hardcore" market with upgrades that weren't up to speed with the rest of the 8th Gen, and those specs made it seem more "techy" than what their well established casual audience wanted.  They're stuck in an in-between of being too good for the casual gamers and not good enough for the "hardcore" ones.  Because of this you can expect complaints from both sides.

I agree with what Caity said. Nintendo isn't considered hardcore gaming. So when Nintendo tried to upgrade, it seemed really uneeded. But Xbox One is getting many complaints about everything, so it's not like they're not being critcized like Ninetndo.
