Did Nintendo forget they have the two greatest handheld video game console libraries ever assembled?

Posted

The Nintendo eShop has plenty of classic Nintendo games available for purchase, but Nintendo seems to have forgot they have the two greatest handheld video game console libraries ever assembled in the Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS.

Think of all those amazing Pokémon and Square Enix games they released on those handheld consoles.

Come on Nintendo, start supporting GBA and DS games on the Nintendo eShop.

Very true... But people don`t want ports, or remakes of DS and GBA games. What I believe people want is for Nintendo to make a console that is capable of standing up against the next generation of hardware. And i`m afraid the Wii U will never catch up.. Hell neither does Nintendo, they lowered their sales projections for the Wii U down to 70% this month. Things are getting tough. They're gonna need more 3rd Party, heck even 1st Party support, sure the next Smash Bros will be awesome, but how long are we gonna keep playing our annual Mario game, but this time with a new gimmicky power up.

No one's talking about ports or remakes. We're just talking about Nintendo selling GBA and DS games on the Nintendo eShop. Like PlayStation does with PSP games on PS Vita.

Oh I see... but that`s pre-existing software that`s already been out, old software isn't going to make up for shitty hardware sales.

We aren't talking about Wii U. We're talking about 3DS which is selling great.

I know, but by putting "Did Nintendo forget?" in the title implies that your talking about their mediocre Wii U sales.

No offence Roxasman, but you're kind of missing the point of this thread. If you want to talk about Nintendo's lack luster sales, this isn't the thread to do it.

Now, back to the subject at hand. I would personally love for Nintendo to begin putting GBA and DS games on the eshop, and they probably will eventually, but my besgt guess is that it won't happen for a while longer. Perhaps not even until the next Nintendo handheld comes out. Of course, I'd love to be wrong about this.

IM SO SORRY!! It`s late for me, so i`m reading things wrong xD I didnt realize he was implying the GBA and DS games just to be put in the E-Shop.. and has nothing to do with Wii U... again its late, dont judge.

Agree,Nintendo should put GBA and DS games on the 3DS,there's no reason not to.Same problem for the Wii U,Gamecube and Wii games should be available on the eshop.

And maybe that's just me,but it would be cool to have NES,SNES and N64 games on the 3DS eshop,I had fun playing PS1 classics on my PSP.

How on earth does that imply that? Lol.

They should just focus on GBA games and not DS, since DS games are still around

You could say the same thing for PSP games, but that didn't stop PlayStation.

The thing about that is, the PSVita isn't backwards compatible except digitally. The 3DS IS physically backwards compatible, allowing you to play any DS, DSi, or 3DS game. Comparing it to the PSP is irrelevant and a poor comparison, since the PSVita can only play (some) PSP games through the store.

The Virtual Console is about letting people access games that would otherwise be very expensive or otherwise difficult to come across. At this point in time, getting old DS games is neither of those things.

Getting old DS games is difficult if you want them brand new.

Well Playstation Vita rolled over PSP unlike how the 3DS didn't forget to bring along the DS

Well Nintendo is the only company that cares about backwards compatibility. The others use other methods which are better in the long run.

Which is the reason why the PS2, early model PS3's, and the 360 to an extent were backwards compatible.

As it currently stands they're. I never mentioned the old SCE or Microsoft.

I just like backwards compatibility. But I wouldn't mind if Nintendo could put GameCube games on the Wii U eshop

Have they put 64 games on it yet?

No, but they have put 64 games on the Wii Shop.

Some of them yes but not all of them.
