Microsoft will give you 100$ store credit towards an Xbox One if you trade in a PS3

Really? Is this seriously how low we've stooped now? Like the title for the actual article says, they're essentially paying you to abandon Sony for them.

Microsoft have finally realized how good PlayStation 3 is and they want in.

You're oversimplifying the issue and you know it, Amon.

Not at all. This practice is extremely common. Car dealerships do it all the time. Insurance agencies do it all the time. Computer manufacturers do it all the time. This is nothing new. The fanboys will just try raging about anything with the word "Xbox" in it.

Wow. That is the only word I can use to express my feelings. Wow. How the hell can they even get away with this? Is this even legal? I wonder if Sony can sue them for this.

There's nothing illegal about doing this.

Well played, Microsoft.

But Nope Nope Nope.

Edit: Pretty sure there's nothing illegal about this. Just promoting in a scumbag manner.

I like Microsoft I enjoy the Xbox more than the PS3, I still have my love for Sony and support them. But even a person like me that prefers the Xbox console over the Playstation knows that this is just really bad marketing which will cause a uproar among the hardcore "fanboys" such as some people here on the forums are already doing.

Reminds me of that one time where Marvel offered a rare variant cover (or something) for one of their titles in exchange for providing ripped cover pages of one of DC's then-current events (Blackest Night, I think). Very unprofessional.

Extremely common for other companies or not, given Microsoft's downward spiral into desperation recently, this is just a new low for them. From a business standpoint, it's like they're begging gamers to PLEASE 'switch sides'. It's pretty pathetic. Sony has problems, too, but I don't think they've ever pulled stuff like this, at least not as blatantly as Microsoft. Even their Crash Bandicoot commercials from the 90's had more dignity than what Microsoft has presented.

Honestly, I'm not even angry about it so much as I pity them for thinking this is the next logical step to take.
