the X&Y anime, should I watch a dub or sub for it?

Posted

Before anyone call me a weeaboo just like what happened in one of my Avatar threads,I'm asking this question because...

the previous seasons of the Pokemon anime had a nasty habit of editing stuff in the dub(like turning a rice ball into a freakin sandwich...it's minor but still)

is the dub for the X&Y anime as good as the Japanese one without editing stuff out of the English version??

Because I really want to watch the English version

The English version has been great since Battle Frontier.

The English version has been great since Battle Frontier.

I didn't have a problem with the voices

I meant problems with editing stuff or removing certain scenes out of the English version or some missing episodes(like the Safari Zone episode where Ash got 30 Tauros)

Speaking of which,I might watch the DiamondPearl season as I completely missed that one

That Tauros episode was before Battle Frontier, aka when 4Kids did it.

I didn't watch the subbed version, but I still liked the XY dubbed kind. It looks really pretty and its a bit funny.

The dub is the only one I watched (besides the second episode). If voices don't bother you, just watch the dub. It's a really good show, it might even be better than D/P (my personal favorite series). :D

I say watch the dubbed version! so far the show has actually felt like a Pokemon show. The little changes they did with this season has me addicted to the anime.

Trust me when I say the new XY series is 100 times more better nad improved than the previous BW series.

I watch it in dubbed because personally the Japanese voices wreck my head. That said the English dub has been terrible ever since 4Kids stopped doing it and that's not because I have some nostalgia thing going on with the original dub I just genuinely think it sounds better.

I think in terms of XY, you can get away with either the dub or sub. The only problem is the dub is only episode 6 currently and the Japanese version is a good number of episodes ahead so if you want to watch a lot of them then there isn't any.

There haven't been many banned episodes in a few years to be honest. There were a few that weren't aired but that was because of earthquakes or something that happened in Japan around the time.

The XY anime in general is actually kind of tolerable unlike the earlier ones, and the dubbing's not bad either (even if you grew up with the 4Kids one like I did). I think they've gone past the point of editing things out, but honestly the first seasons had a lot of weird episodes that I can understand were either taken out or changed (e.g. the Porygon epileptic seizure party, the fact that the Safari Warden held Ash at gunpoint, anything involving Gen 1's incarnation of Jynx).

I'd say dub. Of course, watching Pokemon in any language other than English feels weird to me. xD I still find it ironic that the dub was better when 4Kids did it, but this one's not bad.
