So this isn't a actual game but a idea for a crossover fighting game between Square Enix's characters, and Capcom's characters.

 

Plot: A mysterious entity has began to merge, and consume the 2 universes into darkness. The heroes of these universes must battle to save there worlds.

As a Monster Hunter fan, I must say that I'm not sure how you'd have the Monster Hunter a character, since there's no definite look to him/her. Cha-Cha would be a much better fit, in my opinion.

Since Monster Hunter hunts, and use monsters I thought it would make sense that he uses monsters to fight.

Yeah, but what would he/she look like? You could easily ask several different people what the hunter should look like, and get several different answers. Also, the hunters in the games don't really use monsters, just hunt them. Well, with the exception of the occasional felyne or shaka-laka (such as Cha-Cha), that is.

To be fair, Edward isn't made by Square Enix, but from a manga published by them. He doesn't really fit in anyway, being an anime character.

I wanna see LS rise from the ground kneeling then fight Protoman and Megaman with Kain Highwind and then have Kain and LS fuse to make a Lingering Dragoon that has a Keylance

Okay, I am going to ignore how obvious that is to me, but regardless I am obsessed with the series so I cannot say much. 

Yes, Claude is from second story/second evolution (1998/2008), also Blue Sphere (2001/ 2009), although Leon was more of the main character there.  it was the most likable of the series and was made into an anime and several manga adaptions, Fayt is from Til the End of Time and Director's cut (2003/2004), it is one of the more confusing of the the series. Then there is Edge(main character whom I did not care for so I chose Faize the second main male character) it was probably the least liked of the series, due to it being quite short and loss of charm.

Anyone have a suggestion for the final boss?

Leon Kennedy vs Agent 47 would be a cool pairing.
