More Chrisitian movies released in 2014 than in other year

Posted

Hey everyone, I know this is a site used by many different people in different countries, so I would just like to ask your opinion on something. In America, 3 different Christian movies have released in the month of March, and if you combined all of the money these films made, it would be over 1 billion dollars. And there are more Christian movies to be released later in the year. Do you think Hollywood is deliberately making movies about Christianity, or is this just a coincidence? Is religion a hot topic right now?

( No hate, I report fast )

I'm kinda indifferent to these Christian films: I used to go to church a lot, but kinda fell out of it.

I guess its cool?

I dunno...

Only Bible I really read was the Manga one....

I really don't see how promoting Christianity can be a priority to Hollywood ._.

Don't worry, I'm here too. I can vouch for Neko-chan as well. Though I think you're out of season with your hallelujah-ing. Isn't it Lent?

Erhem, anyway. I'm not particularly sure about this. I think it's mostly a coincidence, and not solely for promoting the religion. God Loves Uganda actually focuses on Christian extremist, putting practitioners of the religion in not the best of light. Then there's another one of those Jesus movies, which the world can never get enough of. The guy is the most controversial person in history, rather revolutionary, you don't have to be Christian to know of Jesus and be interested in his exploits, and the story can keep being retold with new film technology. You could actually put together a decent biography of Jesus of Nazareth from a number of historical documents, and not a single reference to the Bible. That last part was just a fun fact or two or three, I think this is all coincidental.
