Yes so um, are they sharp at all? Most of them look like giant blocks of metal that you fight with and don't appear to be useful for cutting (and yet some scenes in the game show you slicing through stuff despite the blunt nature of most keyblades).

Some of them appear to be sharp but are all of them?

I know, this question sounds stupid, but most of the keyblades are blocks of metal :/

Keyblades are magical weapons. It could be sharp, but this is a kids game too, so they probably designed the Keyblade as a harmless key shaped sword.

In Kingdom Hearts 2, where Sora, Donald and Goofy was trying to save Meg from Hades grasp, there is a scene where Sora destroys the chains Meg is captured in.

keyblades are probably not sharp since they're only a key mixed with a sword X3

I don't think they are sharp on the blunt end, but the key pick (don't know what it is called) might be. The characters only use the dull side, so it can't be confirmed. I like to think of the keyblade as a conveniently shaped club; and Sora constantly pounds his enemies over the head into oblivion.

Well Sora pounds an enemy so much that you would THINK that the enemy would die eventually. but the Fenier and Ultumia Weapon look very sharp X3

I was gonna mention Fenrir but I forgot to.

the x-blade is pretty sharp lookin too

yah but I was talking about keyblades that you can actually get in the game not just any keyblade other wise I would've said the X-Blade as well

The Keyblade has some sort of... hidden sharpness or something. It can cut through buildings in KH2, and through KH, dropped keyblades often get stuck in the ground. Sora can jab his keyblade halfway into any material by using Trinity Limit.

If the keyblade was sharp or blunt, it wouldn't really matter. the heartless and nobodies kind of disappear when they're killed. So having a sharp keyblade may be useful fighting against a human or a 50ft. three headed dog, a blunt keyblade would work just fine. And the fenrir looks pretty blunt and non sharp to me.

The keyblade is a magical weapon so i'd imagine that most of the damage caused by it is through those magic sparks that are expelled from it when you hit something : The thought of Sora clubbing Ansem or any ememy over the head seems kinda weird, you'd think Sora would be scarred from breaking someone's bones or skull o.o

just a guess

I think weapons like oblivion would have sharp bits but i don't think how it is shaped makes that much difference to the damage it causes

well they must have some sharpness to them considering the fact that they can go through ground, like when riku throws oblivion next to roxas

well it is called a key BLADE so im guessing theres a blade somewhere!

The blade is the part that comes out of the hilt, it doesn't mean it's sharp.

They must be sharp if you do that much damage? Unless you were...just hitting them with an oversized key, of course...Which is probably the case.

Well if they were sharp, why didn't Terra get mauled by them in the KH2FM secret vid when he got hit by the trail of Keyblades?? The power is obviously magic based...

Because they're using anime logic; people can only be injured if it's important. Even so, Terra's armour gets very damaged. As a comparison, look at Final Fantasy, everyone who uses a sword in that does as much damage as a keyblade, it's just a gameplay element so everybody doesn't die in a few seconds.

Keyblades probably are sharp I mean if Roxas Sora can slice through skyscrapers like they're butter...

I think they are sharp, but it is the magic behind it. I'm pretty sure SE and Disney, didn't want to make a violent weapon (even though it is still pretty uhhh violent...) but yes, I think it is sharp, but we are just getting a pretty image of it in Disney style.

well it may not be sharp cause is a normal key sharp?

Well, the Keyblades are magic and you can only use one if you have a strong heart, right? So what if how powerful the Keyblade is comes from your heart?

No... the Keyblade is like a freaking club... probably only weighs fifty pounds... and pummels you dead...

no stabby stabby involved...

nuh uh, way to violent/shotdead
