But in the end, they both lost to a ragtag bunch of misfits.

(Also, Kefka makes the better villain just by virtue of being a clown.  You can't get more evil than that.)

I'll take that bet and raise it by a mime.

That's part of why I like sephiroth more than kefka. Throughout VII and Crisis Core we really get to see how he got so insane, and with Kefka he's always that way, so we dont know what influenced him to behave this way.

Plus Kefka's, like, really funny.

I think Metal Snake/Red Tribal already made a thread with this same pic.

Kefka's just way better. xD

I believe they said it was the Magicite experimentation that drove him to insanity.

I haven't played FFVI in a really long time, but I far as I remember Kefka wasn't crazy to begin with,he became insane because of some experiment right?

yeah, but spethy would win in a fight

Look at the third point on the left again. Sephiroth failed his goal, while Kefka destroyed an entire planet, leaving the few survivors in an unlivable wasteland to rot for the rest of their days, living in complete fear of Kefka randomly deciding to smite them for his own amusement. I think we have a winner.

Not to mention that Kefka became the god of magic.

you have to take all of the plot points into account for that argument, like sephiroth was recovering for much of the game, and considering kefka was gesthals #2 for much of VI, he had many chances to use his position to his advantage

If you talked to an NPC in south figaro,he'll tell you that the reason why Kefka was insane was because of a flaw during the process of making him a magitek knight during one of Cid's experiments that was conducted by the empire, that flaw cracked Kefka's mind and made him a madman who see no meaning in anything in life other than the joy of destruction

If you'd search more you'll find that Kefka is way more of a twisted villain than Sephiroth

So how does Sephy's recovery was made him better than Kefka?

Sephiroth was controlling Jenova's body and morphing it for his leisure yet he didn't use much of that to his advantage other than controlling Cloud to give him the Black Materia

Besides,Sephiroth became a villain because of a lie by Shinra that Jenova was his mother when in fact it's Lucrecia

And even after all the process his plan went through he failed

Kefka on the other hand actually succeeded in destroying the world....halfway through the game in fact

Also,if you actually compared the two, many things in VII(btw I really love FF7 I gave it a 1010 in my review) were inspired by 6

Industrial empiresorganization doing genetic experiments....check

said genetic experiment became evil....check

Rebel forces against said empireorganization (Avalanche and The Returners)...check

Protagonists suffering from amnesia and they overcoming it near end of the game(Cloud and Terra)....check

villains having a final angelic form during their final boss battle...check

Only difference is:Kefka succeed and became the God of Magic and destroyed an entire race of espers, while all of what Sephiroth's accomplished was causing Geostigma

Kefka wins, and I haven't even played VI yet. Lol.
