Will Nintendo Show Up At This Year's E3?

Posted

So as everyone knows, Nintendo didn't make an appearance at least year's E3 event (except with the game demo's of course). Instead, they decided to do things a little differently by hosting a Nintendo Direct around the same time as E3. But since this year's E3 is just about 2 months away and how fast time is going by I really wonder if Nintendo will decide to actually show up and make a conference at this year's E3. I honestly think they should just make an appearence at E3. Because as much as I like their Nintendo Directs Nintendo really makes E3 events so interesting and exciting. And I just know that once other companies take notice that Nintendo is making their own event instead of going to E3. Other companies will more than likely follow and do the same thing. And E3 will not be as hyped or exciting as it is now. At least in my opinion anyway. But anyway, I do hope that Nintendo decides to attend this year's E3 as they are one of my favorite companies to watch live there along with Sony and Ubisoft. Do you think Nintendo will show up at E3 this year or do you think they will just make another Nintendo Direct close to E3's event like with last year's E3 event?

I don't really care either way. I only watch E3 conferences because of all of the unintentionally cringy things that come up, anyway.

What unintentionally cringy things are you referring to?

If they make it in there they might talk about a possible Majora's Mask remake and a little more information about zeldaU and Hyrule warriors or even other things that I didn't mention.

Microsoft;'s last year E3 conference....that one was a disaster

It wasn't as bad as that E3 where Nintendo's "huge game announcement" was Wii Music...

was that the 2009 one ?Cuz I remember Wii Muisc being announced a long time ago

I don't watch E3, but I think it's better for all the companies to go there personally cause then all the gaming news/evolution/etc is shown in one place.  For people attending, it's great to get to see them all

I'm assuming so, I don't think they'd want a repeat of how terribly their stream went last E3. Besides, if they reveal "Zelda U," they'll probably want a good crowd for that.

I hope so, showing up at these conferences shows the gamers the company is passionate about talking with the fans.

I honestly don't mind if Nintendo has an extra special Nintendo Direct instead of an E3 conference, as long as the Direct doesn't lag as much as it did last year. There were so many people watching the live stream, I ended up missing multiple chunks of it because of buffering.

I want Nintendo to attend E3 and make also make post- Nintendo Direct. Like Caity said, there are many gaming reporters at E3 and what  ever Nintendo is going to show, they need as many people to know what happen ( that is the thing that made them pretty much invisible at E3 last year).

A post E3 Nintendo direct would be so that they can give extra info and behind the scenes footages to their fans

I wouldn't mind if they just do a direct. Those are simple and to the point, while conferences feel slower and filled with random stuff that we don't need.

They will probably have a conference instead of a Direct this year. The reason they gave for last year's absence, was that they didn't had any hardware to show, and seeing how this year they are supposed to show their QoL platform, and though it is unrelated to their gaming division, it still is hardware to show. Then there is also the case of revealing Zelda U on a mere Nintendo Direct, would just be wrong, specially after the fan reaction during the TP reveal.

What's the QoL platform?

What's the QoL platform?

QoL=Quality of Life

Makes sense that they'd do a live presentation if this is discussed. I still think even if this doesn't show up, Nintendo should be on air. The fanbase isn't going to save the Wii U; they need to spread the word out, and showcase their latest games to motivate as many people as possible to buy it.
