How did riku get the appearance of Ansem in Kingdom Hearts 2, I mean did he just look like that when he got older. How could he?

Featured Replies

Ansem's darkness was in him from kh1 . In 358/2 days when he fought Roxas he used Ansem's darkness to defeat him. He took the appearance of Ansem in the process.

DANG IT, you posted before me Master Xemnas

this contains spoilers, but i dont think youd be asking that question if you weren't willing to deal with spoilers

you know how ansem took over riku in kh 1, well during the events of com, it explains that ansem still dwells with in riku and even after fighting him again, he still remained,

in days, it shows that existence of ansem in one of the actual cutscenes, but also that riku can control it, however, in roxas's final battle during that game, riku releases his grip on ansem, and becomes ansem, though he still has control over the body for some reason...the reason he did this was because he was not able to defeat roxas with his own strength

hope that answer's your question

No. In CoM you get to see how Riku accepts Darkness as his power. In 358/2 Days (spoiler)(spoiler) you see how Riku fights with Roxas and once defeated he accepts TOTALLY the darkness in order to win Roxas and bring him to Sora so he could wake-up. But that means he should take that form (Ansem's look) so he can completely control it.

i knew the storyline of riku in com, but still, what i said is in a way true, but what you said is the correct thing,

riku has control over ansem's body because of riku's strong heart

How did riku get the appearance of Ansem in Kingdom Hearts 2, I mean did he just look like that when he got older. How could he?

Remember during KH1 when Riku was possessed by Ansem SoD. His heart was expelled from his body in Hollow Bastion, but with Ansem's defeat, Riku's body, along with Ansem SoD (Apprentice Xehanort's heart) returned to him. Off topic a bit, but this also explains why Riku can dual-wield: because he has Apprentice Xehanort's heart within him.

Anyways, because of this, he takes on Ansem's SoD's appearance when he needs to rely on the darkness, with him fully taking on that form when he was forced to unleash all of the dark power within him to defeat Roxas.

After Ansem's defeats in KH1 and CoM, there was still a piece of his darkness lingering inside of Riku. This is what gave him his dark powers. When he was on the verge of defeat from Roxas, Riku unleashed all the darkness in his heart, which gave him the strength he needed to defeat Roxas, but as a side effect, Riku took the appearance of Ansem. He continued to look like this until the real Ansem's Heart Decoder exploded.

When does Riku dual wield?

Destiny Place and Way to Dawn. He wasn't using both of them himself, but it's still dual-wielding in the sense that he has 2 Keyblades.

Well that's not amazing. Can't anybody chosen by the Keyblade wield any keyblade? Mickey has Star Seeker and Kingdom Key D, for example.

How do you all know this, it doesn't even show a cutscene where Riku transforms into Ansem in Kingdom Hearts 2.

Actually this cutscene does exist

that's cuz it never was in kh2, the cutscenes are shown in kh2fm, and khdays

Since when does Riku have Xehanort's heart inside of him? As I recall, Xehanort doesn't even have a single heart. I also never recall Riku duel-wielding at all. Just because he has more than one Keyblade doesn't necessarily mean he can duel wield..

Pretty much.

the darkness inside riku was actually a part of ansem see this in chain of memories

yes it does stupid

when riku unleashed his full darkness to knock roxas out cold

the darkness inside riku was actually a part of ansem see this in chain of memories

Already been established. At that point, Riku still had Apprentice Xehanort's heart within him.
