Kingdom Hearts III PC Release Speculation

Posted

All because of one small statement, there has been a lot of speculation that Kingdom Hearts III will have a PC release. Tetsuya Nomura said "Yes, Correct, but again DirectX 11 is the tool that we’re using and whichever hardware which has a compatibility with that tool, we can keep it consideration." Because of that, a PC release is likely but they didn't mention this at time of announcement which is strange and a norm for Square Enix. Still there is E3 to look forward to... Maybe then we can get an answer.

  • I only see them releasing it on PC if they do it for FINAL FANTASY XV as well. And yes, Square Enix could easily announce a PC version this year. They announced the Xbox 360 version of FINAL FANTASY X

  • It doesn't matter what makes sense, it's what hardware supports it. It's firstly developed for PlayStation 4 and then they see what platforms can easily support it. Only Xbox One and PC can at the mom

  • You can use controllers on computers very easily.

yeah but your saying that it can't work that way at all and it can

No, I actually didn't. I said "That's not the way they work." Which is correct, Square Enix don't work like that. Could they? Of course they could, but they don't. They release their major new titles on PlayStation and Xbox as it stands and may start to release them on PC in the future.

sorry, i though you said it works

Prepare for the Mods!

Prepare for the Mods!

I will not mod my games, and I do not plan to anytime soon.

So why should I buy it for the Pc ?

What if people don't care about those? I don't care if the game's graphics are worse (I still play and enjoy 8-bit games), don't care about modding the game, don't want to play on a keyboard, and it'd be more expensive to get a good PC than a PS4.

Then they'll play console versions. Everyone has their own preference but PC gaming is huge.

I know it is, I enjoy PC gaming myself. However, I only like certain genres on PC. I hate playing first-person games on consoles, and prefer a more precise mouse and keyboard. However, I personally find RPGs to be better suited to consoles. Same goes for games like KH that focus on RPGs (Mashing the left click over and over feels awkward, same goes for keys).

Actually the point of PC versions is for PC gamers. Some are not interested in consoles, and prefer PC because you can just spend a few hundred bucks upgrading your current rig instead of buying a new console every time one comes out.

While I do see it is possible, and PROBABLY wouldn't take too much work to make a PC release of KH III.I personally find it unlikely, but who knows, Square Enix might surprize me.That being said I probably would have to upgrade my computer to play it if I wanted to play it on my computer.

Really cool xD

I would rather play it on PS4 cuz my pc can't run anything without overheating

well, I think this is the reason they seem so eager suddenly to do digital sales on PC for final fantasy games.

http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/05/12/what-are-square-enixs-upcoming-large-scale-online-titles

The whole article is about their financial report for the last fiscal year.

according to the PDF compared to their last fiscal year, their income on MMO's is up from 11 billion yen to 20billion yen(differnce of 9billion yen, 88million dollars), and $10 says that's because of FF14. They must have finally realized there's JRPG fans on PC.

7 and 8 probably helped them realize this as well, but i don't think they made that big of an impact that they would be willing to put in the effort port over FF3 from PSP

It will make a bigger difference than you think. This is FINAL FANTASY we are talking about, and remember Kingdom Hearts III and FINAL FANTASY XV on PC is still nothing but a rumor that started when Nomura said that they are using Direct X 11 to make the games.

FINAL FANTASY III isn't available on PlayStation 3, they're simply porting FINAL FANTASY III and likely IV, V and VI because it's so easy to port Android games to PC.

I think he meant PSN.

I think he meant PSN.

Well that's only for PS Vita and PSP.

yeah i was thinking about the PSP version of the game. but yeah they already ported it to android so that probably makes it easier to bring over to PC.

FF11 was the last final fantasy MMO made, and it was also released on the PC. I think Square knows there is a huge MMORPG market on the PC, and it would be silly to limit it to just the console market.

Yes they might make more MMOs based on their other IPs, but I don't think it convinced them that JRPGs on PCs sell well. Then again I could be wrong.

They do, believe it or not. There are a number of JRPGs on PC and they seem to sell well.

It would be nice, but they've only confirmed it for PS4 and XB1

Yes, we are all aware, but like I said, Nomura saying that he is using Direct X 11 to build this and that supported platforms will be considered, is what started this hype.

I know, but I'm just saying, the fact that they only confirmed it for those platforms may mean that they don't plan on bringing it to PC
