Being honest though, I don,t know if you have seen the reveal for the next CoD but it's from a new developer and it really does look like something new. The series might actually finally be on the verge of change. E3 will determine the future of Call Of Duty for me.

Plain and simple they're getting the sales so they must be doing something right.

The main reason that COD sells as much as it does is because of the advertising and the dumbass fanbase. The gameplay isn't what sells it apparently, because I can think of dozens of FPS's better than COD.

I never realized that there was a COD cycle, but i'm not surprised. I see this cycle repeat every time I see my brother play COD.

Also I have to say if the COD cycle is true, so what, it still means they are buying the new games. And if a business can make money in a way, especially a legal way, they will make money that way. It is as simple as that.

 

You can't have all games in a monetized market to be painstakingly crafted by people with every ounce of love they have in them.

You need the CODs of the gaming industry for publishers to have enough spare cash to be willing to take a risk and fund a AAA game YOU personally will enjoy.
