A thought came to my head that scared me. Will Kingdom Hearts III take as long as Fianl Fantasy XV? I ask because I'm pretty sure moost of the same people are making both games, and Square seems to stress that they will take their time to make both amazing. I Don't know. Maybe Kingdom Hearts will have a shorter development since they dont have to make all new characters stories etc like they have to do with final fantasy

No. It wont take as long as ff15.

The game probably won't even release I lost faith in square a long time ago.

It shouldn't take as long. KH3 is being made by the Osaka team (who made BBS, 3D, etc) not Nomura's team (who made KH1 and 2). Some people from the original team will probably help but most of the team is made up of people who have been making KH games for the past 6 years.

And once FFXV is finished the rest of the original team will probably join in to speed up and finish development.

And development started at the beginning of the systems lifespan, not the middle, so they probably won't have to re code the game for the PS5

Switching from the PS3 to PS4 probably set XV back a bit.

Square Enix have plans for a FFXV-2, so I'm just hoping they finish KH3 before moving onto that :P either way, KH3 should release in the next 3 years or so..

Um, how long were you in this fandom? Because III and XV (then known as Versus XIII) have always been parallel projects for Square Enix.

why so?

I'm pretty sure Kingdom Hearts 3's development will smoothly continue and we'll eventually get the game, I don't think we'll have to wait as long as we've waited for Final Fantasy XV.  I'm pretty sure that KH3's development is at least halfway done! :D

I wouldn't be surprised if it did take that long. This wait has gotten so ridiculous.

Kingdom Hearts III is silly to compare to FINAL FANTASY XV. Kingdom Hearts III begun development in 2010 but since they've released Birth by Sleep Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts 3D, HD 1.5 ReMIX and are about to release HD 2.5 ReMIX.

FINAL FANTASY XV begun development in April 2006 and since then they've only released Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix. Changing to next gen obviously does delay it by a few years but it doesn't take a whole generation (a long one at that) to develop one video game that was announced before the console was even released.
