Yeah the time travel just isn't working for me... I hope they don't use it again as a plot device.

Wait, Xemnas sent Axel to look for Ventus?

It took me a while to truly comprehend what the teaser from E3 was saying, but now I have contracted a theory relavent to its significance.

As most of you may know, it is commonly accepted that a young Xehanort is talking to a young Eraqus. Well, in the trailer, Xehanort mentions the "lost masters," inferring that he knows more about the keyblade war (and the forerunners in particular) than Eraqus does. The only way this could be possible during Xehanort's early years is if his older self visited his younger self. The theory kicks in here: Since YMX failed to utilize Riku and Sora as a vessel in DDD, they had to find a replacement vessel. The perfect canidate would of course be Eraqus, due to his heavy reliance towards light, a disruption in the balance between light and darkness. However, since he was already dead at that point in time, they had to go back to influence him to join Xehanort's cause. Perhaps since Eraqus still lingers in Terra's mind, Xehanort will utilize this to transport Eraqus in the future, since there must be some type of physical form of one's self present in the designated time period. Finally, in the teaser, Xehanort concludes by saying, "But you knew that, didn't you?" This seems to be indicative of the former prediction that Xehanort went through time and influenced that specific Xehanort (based on his talking in a reflective-esque past tense) so that he could use Eraqus as a vessel. This never occurred to me until I viewed the trailer again today. On a final note, I believe that the "lost masters" mentioned in this trailer is most likely not referring to the forerunners, but instead towards Aqua and Ventus (and possibly Terra's mind). All of this evidence would suggest that the Xehanort that visited this one had experienced all of the events of the numerical Kingdom Hearts games through DDD, as in 358/ 2 days, Axel was sent to look for Ventus by Xemnas, most likely to be a vessel.

These thoughts are just my personal views on the new teaser and if anyone has any input on the matter, post in the comments below!

PS: I know I have not posted on here in a while, but I'm still active on the site otherwise! KH13 4 lyfe!

I'm sure other people will talk about your theory, however, I would like to point out one thing. He can not be talking about the lost masters, as only Aqua is a master. Terra had the potential, but he wasn't chosen. And Ventus... Well, he just isn't a master, I can't really add much to that.

Never played Kingdom Hearts 358/2 days? xD

does he say ventus's name directly or just sends axel to castle oblivion?

He just asks Axel to search for the Chamber of Awakening, Axel didn't know it was because of Ventus xD

Hmm, this theory sounds interesting.  Heck, for all we know, you might be right about Eraqus being a possible vessel! O.O  But I'm sure the lost masters refers to the Foretellers, because as stated above, only Aqua was a Keyblade Master, and Terra and Ventus were not, so yeah. :)

One gaping hole though... you aren't allowed to change the events destined to happen which your theory suggests doing.

Perhaps it was destined that Xehanort's heart had been lingering in Eraqus this whole time, we're just not aware yet. By going back in time, Xehanort solidifies this event, much like Ansem SOD going back and persuading Xehanort to leave Destiny Islands.

But the timeline already happened if you were Nort Eraqus in the past you would directly be changing the events that took place during that timeline. The only reason Xehanort was able to do what he did was because his actions did not change the course of history they ensured it. By bringing Young Xehanort to the present he forced all the events that originally took place to occur in an infinite loop. It's a thin line but MX stretched the rules without breaking them. Eraqus does not seem likely as a vessel considering his stance on light his heart would have rejected Xehanort's heart even in the past. Unless Xehanort forcibly took over his body (which breaks the rules of time travel) it doesn't seem likely.
